Did a lot of research and ended up trying 4 different cards in a few months. This is an excellent card - looks like nVidia got it right. I'm pleased with this purchase.

really good product for the price
this is the brand new 9600gt a really good adition to the geforce series, this one its really close to the 8800gt the only diference its the number of stream procesors (9600gt have 64 vs 112 of the 8800gt) its run every game on maximum, except crysis how throw like 30 to 40 fps with everiting in hight (no antialising) and 15 to 22 with everiting in max (DX10, no antialiasing).....
its really worth the money and for 30 to 40 usd less its a super cheap monster....

Budget Purchase - Amazing Performance
Cute presentation, amazing performance, budget purchase.
Just when I was going to buy a 3870 ATI, the 9600GT was realeased and the first reviews were enough to change my mind.
eVGA is a recognized brand that make great products.

Inherent hardware flaws
Before I returned this product, I was running two of these in SLI. On some games, the 9600GT ran perfectly with no errors. On about half of games both old and new, however, the "black screen of death" would occur. Thousands of other people have the same issue: it's not a problem with the drivers or the motherboard, or the power supply or the CPU or the PCIe bus, but with the hardware itself. I've been hearing that other brands besides eVGA have the same problem so it's Nvidia that's putting out the defective hardware. The only solution that worked temporarily was to underclock the card, but that sort of defeats the purpose of upgrading to one of the latest graphics cards, and mind you the cards still crapped out after an hour or so. The 9800 GX2 runs perfectly, however. No complaints there.

Excellet performance for the price
I bought two of these for SLI mode, my system specs -
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 (Overclocked to 2.68GHz)
Mother Board Asus P5NSLI
RAM Crucial DDR2 533 (Overclocked to 600MHz)
Hard Drives 2 Western Digital 80GB RAID 0
Power Supply ULTRA 700W Modular Power Supply
Previously I was using two 7600GT cards in SLI mode, after Call of Duty 4 came out it was time for an upgrade :-)
Pros -
Price
Warranty
90 Day trade up program
Fairly Low power requiremnts
Low fan noise
Single Slot design (this is a plus for me as my case is a bit on the small side)
Do not generate too much heat (Ditto)
Overclocked by the Factory :-)
Cons
These cards are long, I had to re-arrange my hard drives when I installed them.
Now I can run all my favourite games at 1280x960 or 1280x1024 with all the details turned up :-)
Call of Duty 4 (absolutely amazing game, runs amazingly well on these cards)
First Encounter Assult Recon (F.E.A.R / F.E.A.R. XP / F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate)
Portal (Uses the Half-Life 2 engine)
Far Cry (an oldie but a goodie)
Quake 3 Arena
Gears of War (Runs superbly)
Unreal Tournament 3 (Simply amazing)
Also does well with the only RTS games I play -
Warcraft III - The Forzen Throne
Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War & Winter Assult
If you're buying one card, make sure that your power supply has the 6pin PCI-E power connector, for SLI make sure your supply is SLI rated and has the power connectors for both cards.
Keep in mid you may have to move you hard drive / drives to allow the cards to fit.
Also, be sure to register your card or cards online at the EVGA website for warranty purposes.
If these are out of your budget, get a couple of the 8800GS cards by XFX they are not quite as fast, but are cheaper.
