Great LCD HDTV with built-in DVD player with great service at Amazon

(4 out of 5) by Blue Sky on Dec 13, 2008 (East Lansing, MI USA)
I was very satisfied with amazon service: only two working days after placing my order I received my Toshiba 22LV505 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with Built-in DVD Player in an original manufacture's box with a very good condition.
The picture quality is really great. The built-in DVD is working well. However, you will need to use external (high quality) speakers to fully enjoy this function. The reason for giving 4 stars to this product is the extremly long delay time in responding to switching between channels and to turning the TV on as well.

Great medium sized HDTV at a reasonable price

(5 out of 5) by Richard L. Hart on Dec 9, 2008
The Toshiba 22LV505 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with Built-in DVD Player meets all of my requirements for a secondary TV. This is my first TV with a digital tuner. It's great. Connection and setup were a breeze. The picture quality is first rate. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Nice quality, good picture, DVD with Divx format. Whats not to like?

If its like my other 4 Toshiba's it will be around here longer than I want to look at it, because they never break down.

Bought for Senior Citizen

(4 out of 5) by Capeesh on May 16, 2009 (Arizona)
We bought this TV/DVD combo for my Great Uncle who is 68 years old, disabled with degenerative joint disease, lives out of state, and has a forth grade education. He has never owned anything but a 19" CRT television with one component hooked up; a DVD player that hasn't worked for about 1 year. We didn't want our gift to turn into a hook up/multiple remotes nightmare for our senior relative so we decided on a combo unit. I downloaded the owners manual and told my uncle the estimated arrival date and assured that we would call and if necessary walk him through any problems over the telephone (he connects to cable without a box). The TV arrived by FED-EX 1 day earlier than the estimated arrival date so when we called he already had it set up and programmed. He was able to lift and carry the TV without any difficulty due to it's light weight "the delivery man handed it to me right over the [4 ft] fence". He did need help with one thing, changing the picture size from letter block to full screen. It took just a minute to look up in the downloaded manual and then tell him which button on the remote (PIC SIZE) to push. He was a little embarrassed for not noticing that button himself but delighted to have a full screen so quickly and easily. I talked to him again after having the TV for one week and this is his feedback: He raved about the picture quality, "I could see a single eyelash and I wear glasses!" He watched a Planet Earth DVD and said, "it's like being under water with your eyes open...there's no glare at all!" He has a certain pair of glasses that he wore while watching his old TV but said that he could wear any of his glasses with this new one. And he said with childish delight that he's receiving 10 additional channels that he didn't get with his old TV; one of them being a 24/7 weather channel that he really likes. He has discovered that he can watch a DVD, hit the TV/DVD button and watch the news when it comes on, and then hit the TV/DVD button again and resume his DVD right where he left off..."and the DVD stays right inside the TV...it doesn't come out unless I hit the eject button". He really liked like. He also really likes that he can put a DVD in without having to change the TV to a certain channel. He did have one criticism and that's the volume. With his old TV he could turn it up load enough to hear the news while he was on his porch but with this TV it isn't loud enough to be heard outside, "but that's okay...I love it".

Solid little TV

(3 out of 5) by ghoffmann on Feb 17, 2009 (New Jersey)
In short, this is a good little TV/DVD combo. Smaller than I had expected it to be, but perfect for our needs (TV in our home gym/children's playroom). One MAJOR concern relates to viewing the TV from at an upward angle. If you view the TV head-on or even from off to the sides of the TV, the picture is pretty good. However, if you plan to view this TV from an even slightly lower angle (i.e. mounted on the wall), the picture quality is poor. If this is the manner in which you plan to view the TV, be sure to get a mounting bracket that allows you to tilt the TV in a downward direction. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of buying an articulating arm that only swivels left and right and now have to return it.
Hope this helps.
