this is awful. I have only had my player for 2 weeks and already it wont turn on or stay charged. I have not had a chance to enjoy the damn thing and now I have to search out my receipt and take the no battery charging, no music playing pain the rear thing back to the store.
Entry Level Device
An attractive, small and inexpensive MP3 player that works for me...someone who is new to the MP3 player market and has much to learn. Downloading songs is easy using Windows Media. Transferring them to the player is easy (drag and drop).
It does not have the functionality of my wife's iPod, but then again, it was only 10% of the costs.
You get what you pay for. In this case, I'm happy with this product for the price I paid.

Battery Life is Horrible
The Phillips 2 GB MP Player is adequate enough if you only want a MP3 player that holds a few songs and you aren't particular about special features. While it is very simple to transfer songs to this MP3 player, I hate that you cannot delete somgs off of the player, cannot create playlists, and the battery usually dies after being on for only 2-4 hours.
Having the battery die in such a short period is pretty irritating and inconvinent

Not bad...especially if you can't affrord an IPOD
Prior to this one, I tried cheaper, plastic versions. Then I bought this one and I found it to be well worth the money.
Pros:
small, compact and durable
easy to use
great sound
Cons:
No clip to use for the gym
Use of folders was hard for me
some issues with saving the fm radio stations
must use computer to charge-however, you can get an inverter for car

Good for a first timer
I received the Philips 2 GB flash video MP3 player as a gift. It is the first player I have ever owned. I read all of the reviews that are posted here, just to see what others thought. I didn't have any major issues with one giagantic playlist and I have subfolders for each artist that I added to the player. The one big difference is I did all the prework when it was connected to my computer (F: drive). I just worked on getting the files copied over. So far I haven't had any issues with folders or subfolders and I currently have about 400 songs loaded in.
There were a few things said about turning it off, I have to say I haven't had any issues with that, just press and hold it down until you see the little stars.
What I am not happy about is the video function, it doesn't support anything that I have (items from i-tunes or even my digital camera). That being said, I just decided not to use it for video.
I travel A LOT and if the battery doesn't last 12 hours like stated, then this would definately not be something I would use when I travel - maybe just to walk or listen to around the house.
Overall, I am very pleased with this and am happy to have received it.
