Most Helpful First | Newest First | + ShareGood monitor, beautiful design and already comes with DVI cable
I had a good surprise when I opened my box, this monitor already comes with all cables. Too bad I bought an extra one.
Anyway here are my comments:
Pros:
-Great and bright image!
-Good refresh rate. I see no ghosting.
-Beautiful finish.
-Widescreen rocks when playing FPS games (varies from player to player but I love it)
-Really plug and play with my laptop. Just plug and set it as primary monitor and I'm good to go to use 2 screens (I extend my Work area into the original laptop screen)
Cons:
-You can't adjust anything on the stand (not height nor inclination...)
This is a bit annoying but I placed it on the top of a box to elevate the screen.
-I've seen people complaining about bleeding, but it doesn't bother me. More demanding users might disagree with me.
When I bought this monitor, the price was 220 dollars with the 22" version being 260. For 40 more dollars I didn't think that the extra .4 inch would be worth. Now one might consider the 2253BW instead. Has same refresh rate, same # of pixels and so on, but it is truly 22"

Really nice monitor for Linux
I just purchased this Samsung 2253 for my linux box. Took off my old old CRT and hooked it up. WOW! I was surprised, I didn't have to do anything (I didn't even have to fiddle with the X settings). Works great. As other reports say, it does wobble a bit, but other than that it work great on my linux box.
Very pleased after two months.
I have owned the Samsung 2253lw for about two months, and its performance has been outstanding. I have seen none of the bleeding others have mentioned, nor have I experienced any buzzing. The picture is sharp, and the colors are good. It is such a pleasure using the large screen space.
I am not using the supplied stand. I have a "WorkRite SwingArm" Workrite Sa1500-db Flat Panel Monitor Swing Arm (Extended), which is working well.
The only negative I have is something that seems to be common to all LCD's of this type: digital photographs that appear correctly exposed on a CRT display appear overexposed on the LCD.

Great monitor at a great price!
With DVI and VGA connections, this monitor is ready for your PC. Perfect size for a medium desk, enough real estate for gaming and business!
