FIRST TIMERS; Toshiba does it again w/HDMI upscaling and 8 hour record feature at a nice price!!!

Just want to say for a very fair price this is the perfect "FIRST TIMERS" DVD recorder/player w/HDMI upscaling (HD DVD upscaling from 480p to 1080p compressing). This feature allows you to enjoy your existing DVD library with a very improved picture through the HDMI to HDTV HDMI connectors (6' HDMI CABLE INCLUDED). Extends your DVD shelf life until the BLU-ray Discs and players comedown in price. NOTE: This feature only valid w/HDMI connectors. Definetly worth the cost alone!!!

You can record up to 8 hours per DVD blank (DVD-R or DVD-RW) disc. NOTE: As long as home discs are finalized from other DVD recorders they will play. Exceptions are very rare but can fail on playback.

So if you want to record tv shows like a VCR over and over(up to 8 hours using the w/DVD-RW disc) here you are. NOTE: the 8 hour speed picture quality equal to the VCR.

So have fun on a budget with the TOSHIBA D-KR10 DVD VIDEO RECORDER/PLAYER w/HDMI upscaling. I've owned Toshiba DVD equipment for over 10 years and they perform fantastically.

The 100 page operator's manual is very informative and explains the power of this amazingly economical "FIRST TIMERS" DVD Recorder/player.

Buy it you'll love it. Enjoy.

I love it so far

I have it for a week and all is well so far.
It upscale regular dvd nicely, it's not a picky machine, play various recorded dvd, scratched dvd, play mp3 music.... It also record dvd easily. I wish it has component input (only output)so that I can feed it better signal to make better recording. So far I'm satisfied with it for the money.

Junk

(1 out of 5) by KellyandPeanut on Jun 16, 2008 (NC)
Ordered this new from sears 2 Februarys ago when it was too new for them to carry. Didn't get any extra warranty after being screwed over by one with sears before. Tried to hook it up to surround sound and now the dvd part wont record with a picture or play back home made discs at all. It will only play factory dvds and videos. Cant watch the 10 discs full of stuff I've recorded for the last 2 weeks or record anything new so its useless. Paid $220 and it doesnt last more than 2.5 years. Plus it was always very slow & was a pain switching buttons back and forth every time you wanted to switch from tv to disc. And when you press record overnight it always leaves a code on the screen so you have to press enter on the dvd remote, nothing else will clear it so you can watch or eject the disc. My 1st and last toshiba.
