Not difficult at all..

(5 out of 5) by F. Cortez on Feb 16, 2009
My zpen actually does everything it says it's going to do and I havn't had any problems refilling the ink or anything like that. This is a great product for a student like me. I never have to used a scanner or extra copies again which is great when you never have time to do all that extra work. I also received this item way faster than I expected.

Delighted with the pen for a second then everything refused to work. Hopefully it was just a faulty product going to try it again

ZPen: it works

(5 out of 5) by S. Mechoulan on Aug 10, 2008
The product does everything it claims it does. The major test is conversion accuracy. Even without training it was quite remarkable. The training makes it almost perfect. Can someone explain to me why this company's stock did not soar after releasing this gem?

NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME!

(3 out of 5) by Ross N. Binnie on Dec 15, 2008

The Zpen itself works as claimed. However there are some difficult problems with its functionality.
The US Customer Service Address (Phone & Internet) is not functional.
The Manual ( in PDF format) lacks some essential information
When accessing `HELP' or other Manual functions the default is French language
Forget about contacting the French Headquarters, they don't respond to requests for help
When using the Pen Receiver, it is necessary to orient the Receiver correctly.
When using the Pen Receiver, clipping the Receiver to a clipboard with a thick paper pad will block the Receiver from receiving the signal from the Pen
The Mini Pen requires either very sharp finger nails or a tool such as needle nose pliers to replace the Pen
Where does one find replacement Pen inserts in the US? The US office is Offline so no help there!
You pays your $$ and you takes your chances!
Zpen has been around for a while, but in my opinion still not ready for Prime Time
& Oh Yes, I am using mine, its better than nothing, but not by very much !!!!!!!!!!!!!
At $89.00 its a little expensive for what it delivers
Good Luck

A Fantastic Digital Pen

(5 out of 5) by Large Critic on Mar 13, 2008
Not liking previous reviews of digital pens, I waited a long time before purchasing a digital pen. The ZPen is an amazing device really works! ZPen records your handwriting accurately--and even retains the formatting. Clip the receive to the top of a note pad, any kind of paper as large as A4 (portrait). Write or draw and then upload text and drawings to a PC monitor. Convert your handwriting to text (RTF) to use in Microsoft Word. The receiver unit (a 1 GB flash drive) can also be used to store text, music, pictures, and video. By registering the product you receive an additional software program to search your handwritten notes. Install 2 small batteries into the top of the pen, install the software on your PC, and you're ready to write. Opening the package is initially bewildering because there are no directions. Directions, software, guides, and manuals are all stored on the flash drive. Plug in the USB receiver, install the software, and launch the note-taking program. Replace the ballpoint pen cartridge as needed. Pull out the old and insert the new one. No special brand of ballpoint is needed. ZPen's home is France, so technical support via telephone is impractical. The directions are easy enough, although the documentation could have been written better for English users, but I did not read any incomprehensible text. The receiver houses a battery that recharges when connected to a USB port on your PC with the short USB cable included. The ZPen is a winner.
