I like it but...

I bought this radio mainly so my 2 year old and I can listen to fun kid music while we take a bath. Sounds great and can be turned down quite low...nice in an echoey bathroom. I only wish it weren't quite so bulky and that you could change CDs without accessing the back of the unit. If it's hanging up on the shower arm against the tile wall you basically have to take it down to change discs. Minor indeed buy annoying nonetheless. Given the choices out there I'd definitely buy this again.

What I wanted

(5 out of 5) by AJR on Jul 7, 2008 (Sammamish, WA United States)
This is a great bathroom radio and it has a CD player, which I wanted. The batteries are safe but easily accessible (no tools required). The CD player sucks batteries quickly, but that is to be expected.

sony info untrue

(2 out of 5) by Stu Erris on Sep 24, 2008 (cheshire, ct)
the sony icf-cd73w shower radio plays cd's and radio clearly and in stereo but don't move the player or it will stop playing for a few seconds. Also, the time display isn't bright or able to read at all in the dark.

Phony Product! NOT Water-resistant!

(1 out of 5) by Yuri, Queens, NY on Aug 24, 2009 (Sunnyside, New York)
All the shortcomings described by previous reviewers are true: LCD panel is poorly lit, light blue and white background don't work well with water and light in any bathroom. But most importantly the shower CD is not suitable for a shower room unless it is sitting in a glass sealed jar. The moment this piece of technological [...] gets wet, it is as good as dead. Monumental waste of money! And of course, the lousy warranty or I should say lack thereof, will you leave soaked! My "shower CD" could not stand getting wet and just died. All attempts at revivival were futile.

Easy Listening

(5 out of 5) by Plink on Apr 9, 2009 (LI NY)
This radio is exactly what I wanted.

Digital tuner and presets on the radio so I don't have to spend time searching for the station I want.

The buttons for radio, CD player, on, off, and the presets are raised so I can feel for them without my glasses ( which I rarely have in the bathroom).

All operations are intuitive and the sound is good.
