Great Little Player

(5 out of 5) by Doris A. Thibodeaux on Jun 30, 2008 (Lafayette, LA United States)
First let me say, the customer service for this device is super. The player works great the only thing I needed was the update for video viewing and received this within 30 minutes and the video was up and playing within the next 30 minutes. Great video quality compatible with those Apple devices...we have 3 of those, so I know what I am talking about. The music player is great, the FM radio works great, and viewing photos is great. We have had the player for almost a week and my 8 year old grandson can navigate around the player just fine. The player is sturdy and is completely touch screen. I am very pleased with my decision to take a chance with this player. My 24 year old said she'd want one for her birthday if it was good quality, well guess what she is getting. She will love it. dathib

A little quirky, but a pretty good value.

(4 out of 5) by S. Bell on Oct 21, 2008
Overall Pros:
-Generally nice interface
-Price
-Size
-Multifunctionality
-Built-in Speaker

Overall Cons:
-Some menus are a little tricky to navigate
-No slot to place stylus in
-Interface, while nice, requires double-click. It would be nicer with a single-click.

Audio Pros:
-Decent sound quality (use good-quality earbuds/headphones)
-FM Radio very clear
-Audio continues playing while performing most other functions
-Lyric display function

Audio Cons:
-Repeat function is confusing/not user-friendly
-Only way to easily sort-through music is the explore function
-No sleep function

Picture/Video Pros:
-Conversion software easy to use*
-Very clear video
-Easy picture scrolling
-Accomodates most picture dimensions

Picture/Video Cons:
-Pictures take longer than ideal to load the first time you pull them up

Misc. Info:
All-in-all, very impressive product for the money. Some things are slightly annoying, but I don't think there's anything out there that doesn't have those few annoying things. By the way, it was really nice to have access to this site from the company: http://pro-eb.amazonwebstore.com/content/Download_and_Support.htm while I was figuring it out.

The Amazon page doesn't really specify what comes in the box, so here's the list:
-Player
-Headphones
-Charger
-USB Cord
-User Manual

*You can find the conversion software at the company's site listed above.

great player, some quirks, but all mp3 players have some

(4 out of 5) by Matthew T. Langdon on Jun 12, 2008
this player is great, like my title says it has a few quarks (like it will turn off on me if a song ends and i'm browsing the song menus for another song. But honestly that doesn't bother me as that happens very rarely). the screen quality is great too, it's very bright and detailed, the screen is pretty sensetive too, i don't know what the people mean by having to stab the screen, i just press it and it carries out my selection. So if you want a cheap touch screen mp3 player that can play some movies then this one's for you.

p.s. that person really will send you a new conversion software program if you write him, i already have and he answered me back within a day.

Good bang for the buck

(4 out of 5) by S. OTT on Jun 26, 2008 (Miami, FL)
I bought the 8gb version off of ebay for around $85. Seen them as low as $79.

As others have said, the interface is a bit quirky but not annoying IMO. I love the simple drag-n-drop for loading mp3 files. Converting video, including DVDs, was simple with the conversion software that came with it. I've seen some people complain about it, but they most have an older version. Depending on where and whom you bought from. They may inclose a website where you can download and update the conversion software (mine did, but wasn't needed)

Depending on the file size and format of what you are converting can take anywhere from a few minutes to up to an hour. The biggest video I've loaded was 800mb. To convert and load took about 20 minutes.

For about $20 more I can add a 4gb minisd card (For a total of 12 gb!)

I have no real complaints about this product especially as I saved $200 over an ipod touch.

Again, a little quirky, but easy to master IMO.

Problem with playing video

(5 out of 5) by Pro Ebiz LLC on May 13, 2008 (Boise, ID)
I have seem many people that have problem with playing video files on this perticular player. The English version of the converting software on the CD is version 2.0. For some of the videos you want to convert, you will need version 3.0.
We are the seller (Pro_eb) that is selling the same product on this page and we would like to help everybody out, regardless where you bought from.
IF you contact us via the "Contact sell" option on the page, we will send you a newer version to convert videos. It will work well.
