(5 out of 5) by M. Green on Nov 14, 2008I bought this for my Dad for Christmas but couldn't wait to give it to him!! :) I put the music on there before I gave it to him so when he opened it, it was ready to listen to! He LOVES it!!

Good idea, bad performance

Sounded like a good idea. I got it and started using immediately trying to load information to it. This product did not live up to the hype at all.
1. When transfering files and data to and from it, it takes forever. It said it would take like 64 minutes for a file to load. I used my buddies flash drive and it took only like 45 seconds. I was astonished!!!!
2. It is just too bulky
3. For the MP3 player part, the functionability of the buttons just aren't satisfying. Plus when you turn it on and want to listen to music it takes a good 6-8 seconds for it to finally get to the menu for the music, then you have to select MUSIC and then you have to select what you want and guess what, that takes another 6-8 seconds. Then if you hit the back button to restart the song it automatically skips to the previous song.
I dunno I just was not pleased with this at all.

Barato y muy bueno

Ahora mi unica queja es que si se da un lijero golpe se apaga, entonces tienes que volver a encenderlo, pero es lo unico, realmente fue lo que me hizo no ponerle un 5.

Cheap -- get what you pay for

Cons: very poor instructions; controls are totally counter intuitive -- how did Coby manage to screw up the "Universal" signs (it powers on with the last button, the sign of which is used for advancing tracks on every other electronic device!) Navigating through the menus is a nightmare and extremely fiddly; very slow loading from computer -- so much for the drag and drop feature; poor controls make it very difficult to select music for playback; screen clarity too cluttered, poorly laid out. As mentioned by others, the max sound volume is limited, sound changes with movement of the player, and ear plugs are of very poor quality and fit -- why should you have to buy a better set? Overall, very disappointing, does not come close to my Sandisks Sansa 2GB that I bought 1 year ago for $30, and with ear plugs that really deliver a great sound at no extra cost.
I would not recommend this to anyone; better to buy a decent MP3 player even if it does cost a few $$ more! Wake up Coby, you need to do much better than this.
