(1 out of 5) by Daniel Coviello on Nov 30, 2009 (FL USA)
Not at all happy with MP305. Earbuds on original unit chinchy .
Started having problems from start. Player would shut down for no reason.
Initally it could be restarted but on some occasions only light would come on.
Installed new battery, but problem persisted.

Tried deleting all music to fix problem but now player will not even turn on.

At this point i wiil trash unit and buy a MP3 player that works. Will not be a COLBY !!!

Great Little Player

(5 out of 5) by Mike P. Gallichio on Sep 9, 2008
This is a very nice sounding player and works great with a Mac Computer. Drop and drag could not be any more easy. I used different headphones for a much improved sound. Great deal.

Great mp3 player, 4GB, removable AAA battery

(5 out of 5) by RZ on Sep 17, 2009 (Richmond, VA)
Great simple mp3 player with a removable AAA battery and almost 4GB storage. Can be used as a Flash memory. It also has FM radio. Does not have a recorder or microphone. Very good user manual is included. Supposedly one can use it in a mode that allows play lists etc, but I only use it in MSC format that allows a simple drag and drop of files to it and make separate folders to organize play lists. I have been using it daily for a month and love it.

EXCELLENT quality for only $25

(5 out of 5) by E. Larson on Jul 26, 2009 (Minneapolis)
Before you read any further in this review, you should really understand what I wanted in an MP3 player. I wanted a player that was smaller than my iPod, for jogging purposes, I wanted a radio included, and the ability to act as a flash drive in a pinch.

This player acts as all of them, and for an inexpensive price as well.

To be honest, I was expecting a crappy little bit of plastic that would last, if I was lucky, for 2 weeks before throwing up over itself and dying. I was pleasantly surprised. (the headphones included are the "pendant" type, that is, it facilitates the ability to hang the device from your neck. Very conveinent, but the sound quality sucks.) The software required for interfacing with the computer is included on the device, and isn't as unintuitive as you'd expect from a $25 player. You can rip songs from CDs directly into the library, and the file management system is, while simple, adequate for the task at hand. It can hold roundabout 120 songs in my experience. (I feel the need to remind potential buyers that the format of iTunes-bought songs is an encrypted MP4, which will only work in Apple-approved devices.)

The radio tuner is easy to use, requiring none of the "Jimmying" needed by some other tuners, and the reception is great for a device with no antennae. The only qualm I have about recommending it is that it has no AM radio. A small point for most, but I found it's exclusion disheartening.

Overall, I'd recommend this device if you plan to use it lightly. It feels quite cheap, and although I have not encountered any technical problems myself, others I've heard technical glitches from.
