I was worried how this would work in the car. But it works perfectly. And you don't even have to stick anything permanent on the dash, or wherever.
The main holder uses a strong suction cup for attaching directly to the window glass if you want. This is what I do, so it's easy to move between cars without having to buy 2 of them.
The Colorado slips right on (I don't even push it hard enough to 'click') and is a snap to just grab-n-go. I usually don't even bother with the power-adapter since I use rechargeable batteries in the Colorado.
Take Your Cool New Colorado in Your Vehicle
This kit works really well.
You can mount your Colorado using the suction cup mount on your vehicle windshield or using the adhesive disk. ( the disk is good for states that do not allow windshield mounts )
The mount is sturdy and my Colorado fits in it easily and holds in well.
It is great to be able to conveniently and safely use my unit in the car while driving.
The Colorado is a great companion in the car and the screen looks gorgeous and bright. When running the Colorado on the lighter adapter the backlight on the screen runs in a much brighter mode than batteries permit and the screen is very bright and the map shading and detail are beautiful.
Must Have Garmin Colorado Accessory
Just received the Garmin Colorado Auto Nav Kit today and it is better than I hoped for.
Very simple mount to windshield or the dashboard if required or preferred.
It is extremely secure, unlike some adjustable,multi-purpose mounts.
When using rechargeable batteries and plugged into power adapter, the screen is very bright and legible. I would say brighter than most Auto GPS devices I have seen.
Very,Very Pleased.
Charger doesn't fit the Oregon
The product is not meant for the Oregon , though it's listed as a 'recommended accessory". The connector is at a right angle and does not fit properly.
Caution, Not for the Oregon
I just got a Garmin Oregon GPS and looked for a auto kit for it. Somehow I came up with this one as the one to get. Well, the adapter-end that goes into the unit is facing the wrong direction. It is bent at a 90 degree angle and must be plugged in from under the front of the unit. The problem is that with the 90 degree angle, and the case, there is only about 1/8 inch that is available to actually go into the USB connection. The result? The power cord does not hold a connection and the unit goes into and out of power mode... I ended up filing down part of the connector (where it meets the case) and used a velcro strap to hold the connector in place. Not what I thought I was getting into...
