Didn't Work!

(1 out of 5) by T. Meier on Nov 23, 2009 (plover, wi United States)
I needed to replace 4 walkie-talkies for work. The price on these was the average cost that I pay, and the shipping was much faster than I expected! However, after charging them, one of the radios doesn't work. Switched batteries, etc., and still no go. Tried charging it individually--nothing. Returning them prepaid shipping will cost more than it's worth. I plan on visiting the local Walmart to replace it, that way it will be much easier to return!

Would have been great, but...

(2 out of 5) by James E. Johnson on Nov 6, 2009 (Indianapolis, IN USA)
I had high hopes when I received these new Cobra radios. The batteries came semi-charged, so my wife and I tested them out in the neighborhood and from about 2-3 miles away, they worked great. However, when I tried to charge them, they would not "seat" themselves securely in the charger and try as I might, I could not get them to charge. I was very sad that I had to return them to Amazon because I really liked them otherwise. So, now we're back to using our old, reliable Uniden walkie talkies that work just fine for our purposes. Sorry, Cobra.

Good, but small speaker

Work properly and well, but the speaker is a bit small and the maximum volume is not as much as I would like.

Works great!

(4 out of 5) by Brandon Storkamp on Jul 18, 2009 (St. Cloud, MN USA)
Purchased these as a replacement to an out-dated set for use in a hotel. These radios do have a great range and many different settings that are explained in the description. The lithium ion battery packs seem to last a very long time functioning throughout an entire day without haveing to recharge. Reception is great on these radios even through 8 floors of steel and concrete. Antenna is kind of big and feels like it may break off at times but they seem to be standing up so far with constant use.

First set I had: one of the radios had faulty wiring but I contacted cobra and they gave me instructions on where to send it and they promptly replaced it no questions asked. Very peased with the product and the service provided by both Amazon and Cobra. Will definitely order a pair for myself.

The battery power is very strong and hardly needs charging after a whole weekend. The range is good.
