no disks!.

Issue with disc door

The camera never worked right and after 8 months of getting weird intermittent error messages and being unable to capture countless video-opps, the camera deleted my priceless Christmas footage. I finally sat down down to trouble shoot issue (Am mother of 2 under 3) and was advised by Sony Customer Service that the disc door must be loose and I should send camera to Sony for repairs. I was told this would cost 129$ as we were out of the warranty (although we only received the camera 8 months ago) Pretty pricey for a camera that never worked. I would not recommend this camera and will never buy Sony again. I hope noone ever gifts me Sony either!

Can't use viewfinder in direct sunlight
(1 out of 5) by Kelley R. Allen on Apr 28, 2008 (Alabama)I hate this camera. When I use it in direct sunlight I cannot see anything in the viewfinder because of the glare. Is this a fluke or are they all like this? Would love to hear if others have this same problem. Best Buy will not take it back (thank you, customer no service), so I'd love to know if this is something Sony needs to fix.

$300 Doorstop
(1 out of 5) by Nugget on May 26, 2008 (New York City)This product is NOT compatible with Macintosh computers. Don't buy it thinking there is a workaround. There is not. This should be made abundantly clear in the product posting on Amazon as well as the product literature.
I thought this was an enlightened century and didn't even consider that a company might make a product exclusively for use with Microsoft systems, especially without issuing a disclaimer.
Now I have a $300 doorstop.

Baby due in 2 days and still without a camera
(1 out of 5) by L. Kenney on Jun 15, 2008 (Western,MA)All sounds great, records to memory stick, I think I have finally found a camera that I can just plug in an upload video to my ibook- NO LUCK! It records video and still images to memory stick but only the still images are recognized. SHOULD BE PRINTED ON THE BOX THAT IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MAC.
