Nice speakers, replaced my floor-standing speakers

(5 out of 5) by J. Bartucci on Apr 19, 2008 (Akron, OH)
I bought these speakers to replace my eXL-25 floor-standing speakers which were simply too large for the room. I've listened to many different brands and the Energy line has always been my favorite. I wanted performance as close as I could get to the eXL-25's (and not pay a fortune to get it) and while the C-100's are weaker in bass response, they are more than adequate. They seem to match reasonably well with my eXL-C, eXL-R and PSB sub-woofer and all I had to do was rebalance the volume after the speakers were broken in.

For the price and performance, these speakers are a buy.

Energy Bookshelf speakers

(4 out of 5) by Tim Zin on Jul 16, 2008 (New Zealand)
These are smart looking quality built American speakers, I bought to match to my 25 x2 Watt rms system. Thy aren't the most efficient speakers, @ 87 DB 1w/m sensitivity and are reflex loaded, rear ported. They give a nice warm tone to music. The speakers are supplied with foam port plugs, should you want to reduce the bass volume (then they sound like most other small bookshelf speakers!). They have separate posts at the back for bi-wiring. The sound staging is excellent, and the treble is not too in your face, and will suit a large variety of music. I'm told these are very similar in tone to many european speakers.

Very happy with these.

Great speakers for the price

(5 out of 5) by John Greene on Mar 12, 2009 (New Orleans)
I used to sell home theater equipment ten years ago and while I was there, the Energy line was introduced into our store. At the time, they had wonderful margins, so we sold the heck out of them. However, it wasn't that difficult because after just a week or two, we all realized that Energy offered the best speaks for their price point. It was a real pleasure to guide people to less expensive speakers and having them A/B them with speakers double the price and walk away with the Energy speakers.

Fast forward 10+ years and I'm in need of a new set of speakers for my computer room. I instantly sought out Energy speakers and I can still say that they offer the best quality for the lowest price. Unfortunately they don't seem to be able to compete in the marketing department like Bose and the others, so still very few people actively seek out the brand, which is a shame.

For the price, look no further.

Sounds Great! Build quality is good.[...]

Very good sound for the price.

The Energy C-100s are very clean sounding with a nice midrange and just enough bass. You'll want to have a subwoofer for really low lows, but they sound great even without. They do a very nice job with music and movies. Just a warning on the product image though. The speakers I received are not the shiny silver that is shown. The cones are closer to a flat gray color and the posts that hold on the grill are actually black (plastic) and not the silver shown. They are still nice looking speakers though.
