A recommendable piece of equipment

Well I've had this product a couple months now, and honestly, I didn't think I'd make it this long without a complaint, but I did. The only hard thing was adjusting to the contours of the ergonomic mouse as opposed to the standard contour mouse. I had bought a Laser Mouse 5000 at one point but it didn't suit me at all, but this product is a great product with no issues. It works well, the battery lasts a long time between charges, and it is very accurate, so like I said before, I have no complaints. I definitely recommend this product to people looking for a wireless mouse.

I bought this set and a Logitech MX Revolution mouse because a few months ago I started to get pains in my right arm similair to CP symptoms so I wanted to get relief.
The MX came in first and it made a big difference in allowing me to not have to extend and hold my right arm while using a mouse,
The 7000 set came in a few days later and I now have a personal use time frame to compare the MX with the Microsoft mouse and also the keyboard.
I like the 7000 quite a bit. The keyboard is clunky big but really comfortable. Response is very good, key operation is little stiff but very positive not a bad trade off. Some people have complained about the space key and I have zero problems with placement or operation.
The mouse is easier to grasp and operate compared to the MX. Scrolling is actually a little easier than the MX. The MX can free wheel scroll but you have to click to do so and the non free wheel operation of the MX is not as smooth or responsive. Both have the ability with one click to recall open web pages and with one more click gain access. In conclusion the MX is a little more techno advanced but the Microsoft is more user friendly.
One great feature on both is the zoom feature and the magnifier feature of the mouse. The keyboard has a zoom toggle switch located in easy reach between the keyboard split. You can zoom out to make web pages more legible or you can hit reply in an email and expand the original email to a point to where if you are over 50 you don't need readers.
The mouse has reprogrammable buttons and I reprogrammed the top left to function as a back feature and the bottom left to magnify. Simply hit this feature and a window pops up that is expandable, magnification adjustable, and follows the movement of the mouse.
Over all this set is a step up from a standard keyboard and mouse. Not only in comfort but feature-wise.

This mouse is great! It is very comfortable to fit in your hand and it's batterie life is very long. The range on the mouse is also ecellent. The only problem I have is the extra buttons are a little akward to reach at first but once you get used to them they are not a problem.
Its strengths outweigh its flaws

I picked this up yesterday at my friendly neighborhood Costco, based on it's rechargeability. I've already experienced three of the more irksome problems associated with it, but two of them are fairly easily remedied.
First, the refusal to charge on the cradle. I did some searching online and found that the contractor Microsoft partnered with to supply the rechargeable battery mistakenly produced them a diameter that *just* slightly too small to depress the button in the case that tells the mouse that there's a battery inside. The easiest solution is to cut a strip of paper a little shorter than the body of the battery and wrap it around, tape it in place, and gently insert it into the battery compartment. I used two small sticky notes and they worked like a charm.
The second issue is the position of the two buttons for the Magnify and Flip 3d functionality (Although I'm using my mouse on a Mac, so I get Exposé instead of Flip 3D). At initial setup, the Flip 3D button was rather awkwardly placed, especially since that will, in most users' situations, I expect, be used more often than the Magnify button. However, the Microsoft Intellipoint software (included, and available for download) will let you configure the side buttons to swap the buttons' functionality, or even change them entirely. I set the more prominent button to be the Flip 3D trigger, and the more recessed of the two to engage the Magnify, since odds are I'll be using the mouse with a slightly different grip for better fine motor control when I engage that.
The third issue is the squeak in the left mouse button. It is a nuisance, and I'm not sure if there's a good fix. If you have access to an industrial, silicone-based spray lubricant, that may help, as it's pretty much inert, but otherwise, I've found it doesn't squeak as much if you keep as much of your index finger in contact with the surface of the mouse while clicking. It's not an ideal solution, but it may help.
Other than these three factors, in the first 24 hours of use, I'm quite pleased. It tracks very well, it's reponsive, it fits well in my hand, and it plays nice with my Mac.
Great Mouse

This mouse is great. It feels great, responds great and is easy to use. I like how the battery is rechargeable on an included dock. But, when charging the battery for the first time, it was so low on power the charger dock wouldn't recognize it, I overcame this problem by using a standard wall outlet battery charger for the first charge, then the dock started recognizing the the battery. There are many user customizable buttons making it a very versatile mouse. Great mouse, I would recommend it to anyone.
