I bought one of these for $39.00 for my relative. I have a 2 gig one myself. This little player does everything. Mine came with Best Buy software that will convert the Itunes formats into mp3's provided the music is authorized. It also came with software to download audio books. Alot of times I want to read in bed but can't because my partner is sleeping or has something on TV. This is a wonderful alternative. In addition, I use it for study material and some music. The FM radio is a bonus. You can clean the house or drive while listening to your favorite book and it's so small you can put it in your purse or pocket. The hold button locks the buttons so nothing is activated when in your pocket. The sound quality is very good. You can change the speaker settings to concert hall, etc. There is even a sleep timer on there. And last but not least, it plugs directly into your usb port on your pc (no cords). I would recommend purchasing a separate USB/AC charger. This way you can take it with you anywhere. The fact that this device doubles as a thumb drive and comes with interchangeable covers in 3 different colors is just the icing on the cake. The manual is very helpful and should be read all the way through. This device is very easy to navigate through once you learn all the features. Although I own an Ipod, this still is a great addition and is used daily.

Purchased for my 5 year old daughter and it's perfect for that application. I never thought I'd say this but the interchangeable body trim (that also serves a function) is really neat as she can accessorize to her outfit color. Very easy to load songs onto, no messy or weird software to dork around with- it just appears as a new drive and you drag and drop. Nice vivid, although tiny, LCD screen. Every elementary schooler should have one.
