So, after reading the reviews for some slightly above average pc speakers, I chose these. Primarily, I use my computer for movies and tv episodes ... I have better equipement for music if I need tunes.

Pros: Substantial and well-put-together, these are pretty, with shiny, piano black facing to the speakers, and a grill over the speaker cones. Unlike Altec Lansing speakers, these are not hard wired and can be separated.

Cons:
Sound is just ok: there is bass but it's "muddy". The tone knob, as others have noted, is pretty useless because bass and treble are controlled with the same knob. Volume is a little lower than I expected. Overall, it's just a tepid sound. Not terrible, but not up to the expense.

Verdict: I wouldn't have bought these. They are overpriced for the features they offer, and I wish I'd gotten the cheaper set I'd looked into.

Speakers are of much higher quality sound reproduction than others in this class I am familiar with. I strongly suggest using one of the same company's sound cards to get the full use of their higher capabilities. Very good product at very reasonable price.

For the price these are awesome 2.1 speakers. The Bass is a bit low but I found this fixable by positioning them under my desk. They have a nice true stereo sound on a good sound card. Definately a good set and getting my by until I can afford a nicer set.

I'm completley satisified with these speakers. I connected them to my 23" Samsung HD-TV (which had terrible sound) and now it sounds very good. I also like the jack on the side allowing me to plug in my computer at the same time it is connected to the TV.

I could not be happier with this purchase. These speakers rock!
