The subwoofer cable is labled "Ultra High Performance," but I'll have to admit I didn't test it side-by-side with any other subwoofer connection to my Mirage S8 Subwoofer. The sound is amazingly clear, deep, and has absolutely no distortion. What impressed me most of the MC 600SW cable is the construction, the tight windings around the cable, and the gold tips for both connections. I've had subwoofer cables before and this is the best I've ever seen. Pricey -- yes. Is it worth the extra cost -- basing it on Amazon's pricing -- absolutely. If you paid thousands of dollars on your wide-sreen TV, your up-graded AV/HDMI receiver, and your new surround speakers -- don't you think you deserve the best speaker connections? I'm very satisfied with both the sound and the cable quality itself! Highly recommended purchase. JHM

I'm not an electronics expert and I can't, therefore, describe this item with technical savvy. All I can say is that my subwoofer sounded great after I connected it to the electrical outlet with this cable and I have had no problem with the cable, or any other of the numeous Monster cables that I purchased in the past.
