This is a great idea, and we enjoy using it when the machine is working. But good luck if the Clear Play DVD player quits working. Ours quit working less than 2 months after getting it and it took over 6 months and who knows how many phone calls to get ours replaced. We were told that the replacement player would be a new upgraded model. It looks like the same cheep one. From what I have heard from other Clear Player customers we are not the only ones who have had bad luck with customer service and getting a player that actually works.

I have this Clearplay dvd player and it works great. It does what it says! I just wish Clearplay would come out with a Blueray player. Or a DVD upscaler w HDMI. For HD televisions I have found the video connection seems to improve with an additional "component to hdmi converter" installed.

We got the player free a year ago when we signed up for three years worth of service. Maybe not the best idea. The player broke within a year and when we went to send it back the folks at clear play were less than helpful. It's been three weeks and we still don't have a player -- they say it's on back order. The kicker is that we have to pay for the replacement player. It was very poor quality to begin with, and no free replacement. They also are not crediting our account for the month's lost membership while the player is in transit. We called and emailed and have had a very disappointing customer service experience. Two stars given because we do like the filtering capability. Three stars taken away due to a poor quality player and poor customer service.

After using Clearplay for the last several years, my family and I have basically stopped going to the movies. We would much rather wait for the DVD to come out and then watch it clearplayed. We have owned six different players over the years. Last year they did come out with a player that had lots of problems but their tech support replaced it very quickly. The new player is great. If you don't want all the junk that Hollywood puts into their movies, get this player!

The Clearplay DVD player works and filters in a subtle way. I can now watch movies in my home that I wouldn't have allowed before - Many movies are entertaining except for a few scenes that the movie producers insisted on including in an otherwise family movie. Clearplay effectively removes these scenes according to how I have it set. Great Product! You should order it.
