Works with OS X

(5 out of 5) by G. Gutierrez on Apr 18, 2009 (Fremont, CA USA)
The packaging doesn't mention Mac OS at all, and the handful of inexpensive Bluetooth adapters that I looked at here on Amazon didn't either, so I took a chance. This one does indeed work with OS X Tiger. On our old dual G4 tower running 10.4.11, it was as simple as plugging this device into an available USB port and firing up the Bluetooth system preference pane. No drivers necessary as support was fully native. I was able to pair my phone with the computer and browse files instantly. I haven't tested it in Leopard because our newer Macs which run Leopard all have Bluetooth built-in, but I would expect no problems. If your Mac doesn't already have Bluetooth, this is a great deal.

Does NOT work well out the Box with Blackberry Curve

(3 out of 5) by Mike on Apr 25, 2009 (Houston, TX)
I purchased the dongle as an add-on to get pictures off of my Blackberry curve onto my laptop. Unlike other phones, the Blackberry will not network with the dongle's software. Basically, you have to transfer each picture file one at a time instead of being able to grab all your picture files at once. The dongle networks with my son's Samsung phone and their may be a way to network the Blackberry but I need to do some web research to find out how.

Overall, I am satisfied with the product but wanted to leave feedback that it does not initially work seamlessly with the Blackberry.

works with Vista

(5 out of 5) by snkalaska on Sep 10, 2008 (Kenai, AK USA)
The product description does not say anything about Vista, but on the package when I received it says Vista. Tried to install it by letting Vista load it's drivers but it didnt' work so used the cd. Initially it didn't seem to work, but the next day the Bluetooth icon appeared and I was able to successfully connect from my laptop to my bluetooth stereo. Bluetooth 2.0. Great item for the price.

Economical Bluetooth Adapter

(4 out of 5) by BowDaddy on Aug 13, 2008 (Dallas, TX)
Hardware seems to work well, price is very reasonable, but bundled software and drivers are terrible. If running Vista, I suggest you don't run the included CD and just let Vista load its own drivers...

Your buying the hardware.

This information is for windows users. If you want this to work and easily, you have to buy the software for this dongle from BlueSoleil. That is why this dongle is so cheap. The price is around [...]. So if you're not willing to shell out another [...] bucks or spend countless hours destroying your bluetooth stack, go with Toshiba, or any other name brand- software is "free".
