Lasts longer than Canon's BP511 and for a fraction of the cost (updated)
This is a 3rd party battery that is designed to substitute Canon PB511
I already had the original battery to compare this to, and had this (SterlingTek) product for about a month.
Pros:
-2200mAh versus Canon's 1000mAh. This results in battery lasting 2x longer, technically, and even longer than that in my experience.
-Exactly same build quality and specs as Canon's 511 battery, otherwise.
-Works great on my EOS5D
Cons:
-The grey colour is a little duller than that of the Canon PB511 battery. Not that is matters for me.
Conclusion:
Will definitely buy this over the original Canon, because the price difference is not justified.
(updated the mAH of battery of 2200. Yes, as others pointed out, the battery is in fact 2200mAH, not 2000, which results in more battery capacity)

Lots of Power at a Great Price
I ordered two SterlngTek BP-511 batteries, and they arrived super fast! And to my surprise, they are rated at 2200mAh, which is even better than what is stated on Amazon.
The only negative point that I can find, is the plastic battery housing is made from a plastic which looks and feels cheap compared to the Canon OEM batteries, but I can live with that.

Last Forever!!!!!
Since is my first third party battery for Canon, i was a bit worried about quality and energy life of the battery. But let me tell you guys... this last forever!!!, i shoot around 2000 photos with it and still have energy to go on (Using a Canon 40D with no Flash), it may be the 2000mA, is 43% more than the original BP511.
I only have recharged it three times, i hope it last as Canon does.
Regards,
Miguel

I can not believe those rated Sterlingtek high
based on other reviews of this battery I bought it, and found very disappointing, the battery can not even hold up to 200 pictures, significantly shorter life span than the original Canon battery. I contacted SterlingTek, they told me I need to charge and drain, charge and drain 4 times before I can get the full capacity, I tried, but no, it never gets to the "full capacity" 200 pictures at most. that's it.
I got more power than advertised.
I goofed and was not able to leave feedback for this seller. And the only complaint about this order is the high S&H cost for a single battery, but when I got the battery yesterday (06-24-09) it looked as advertised and powered my camera (EOS 50D) even without the initial recommended charge. I read reviews from lots (and I mean lots!!) of photography websites and many of them recommended Starlingtek branded batteries even over the original OEM ones. I did not have time to test this product against the Canon battery yet so I cannot tell the charge times or how many photos I can take. I cannot tell the power capacity decline over time and so on, but I can tell that the battery I received is marked as being 2200mAh vs. the advertised 2000mAh. Really, no one is going to cry about getting more juice then they expected from this product anyway. I am one very satisfied customer and I will update this review as use this battery over time.
