Cheap, decent speed!

(3 out of 5) by Patrick Nguyen on Dec 1, 2009 (NC, USA)
I had used the SanDisk 8GB Ultra II, which is much faster than this one, because of the price, so I got this one, the speed is little bit slower than SanDisk 8GB Ultra II. you will see the speed is slower when you're shooting continuous 5 FPS on your DSLR camera. Well, I can't complaint, this is the price of what I get:) However if you don't use continuous mode that much, this card should work fine.

performs as stated

Will store over 400 raw+jpg shots on my Canon XTI...over 1000 of just .jpg...I've had no problem with the card so far...

Quality card

(5 out of 5) by Sven on Oct 24, 2009 (Holland, MI)
Purchased this card to complement my Kingston ultimate 266X and another elite pro 4GB which I use in my 40D. While not quite as fast as the ultimate card, this card keeps up with the fast 6.5 fps of the 40D. A very cost effective card which I have found to be extremely dependable.

can't afford this card... too risky!

(1 out of 5) by Ayesha on Oct 7, 2009 (Maryland, USA)
so maybe it was my bad, buying a kingston card for the first time after reading somewhat mixed reviews... i thought maybe the bad ones were just the result of defective cards. guess i got one of those... i tested it, it worked fine; i took it to a wedding (shooting RAW on a canon 5D) and it shot fine for about an hour - i had no problems with the speed - then all of a sudden started telling me the card was not formatted. yikes!
in the end, the files were all there, but i'm not touching the card again... can't afford to have that happen to me at a wedding. going back to sandisk... i know any card can go bad, but solidity of reputation counts for something!

Quality product but more expensive than expected.

The product works fine. There is nothing to distinguish it from the others out there except price. These types of products are a commodity; it surprises me they are still so expensive. I would base the purchase of this type of memory card on the price...although Kingston products are good quality (I've used many in the past) it's just a standard memory card. For those of you unfamiliar with various types of storage media, you might find that you need a PCMCIA card adapter to use this in your computer. For example, if you are buying the compact flash to put in a picture frame you might want to put it in your computer to load first. If so, you might find that your computer has a PCMCIA slot but not a compact flash slot.
