UPDATE:
I have a very good suggestion. Before you assembly anything. Before you even purchase this stand... Look at the back of your TV. If any of the mounting holes are horizontally aligned with the connectors (RCA jacks, and so on) on the back of the TV, Stop! This stand has a long bar that mounts across the back of the TV and after putting this thing together, I discovered that the mounting hardware covered all the connectors! No room to get in there to connect things.
Regarding my initial comments (below)... I was able to get good help from [...] in identifying some of the parts and with some assembly directions. Despite that, this product has problems. Some of the problems I had were... The connectors that allow the top glass to be bolted to the frame, well they were glued to the underside of the glass and they fell off, so the glass could come off the unit. The support bar for the top glass, after being screwed to the front of the unit, did not align to the back of the unit so I had to leave those screws off. Other screws didn't align very well or didn't stay screwed in (stripped w/o over screwing). The unit did not balance very well, despite the balancing screw on the bottom (which got caught in the carpet when I tried to move it into place). I had to return the unit.

Help! The parts list covers less than half the parts. There are about 30 different parts. The parts list covers 14. And I'm just counting the nuts and bolts. Not the major pieces, not the hex wrenches. There are two sets of parts 1) "Stand Assembly Hardware" and 2) "TV Mounting Hardware." The directions seem to cover the first set of hardware. There were also some loose bolts rolling around in the box, so unwrap carefully or you may lose them.
I would attempt assembly anyway, except the directions are poor/skimpy and contain poorly drawn diagrams. Especially the part about how to mount the TV. I have assembled many things over the years and I've never before needed a "dummy" book!

I sure hope I don't have to return this huge, heavy beast to amazon.com.

Quality tv stand
I bought this stand from Sears and I'm very happy with it. It's heavy and sturdy, and it comes with all the hardware and adapters needed to mount just about any flat panel. I have a 40 inch samsung (6 series), and its like the stand was made for it.
I wanted to leave a review though to give people a heads up about assembly. It is not easy to put together. I put it together myself, even mounted the tv all by myself, but the directions are not so great. The screws and washers are not labeled at all. The directions refer to the screws in millimeter measurments, but otherwise the screws are not labeled. You;ll need to use some logic to figure it out, or better use a ruler to measure the screws so you're using the right ones. Just a heads up. I wouldnt rate the product lower for this because its only a one time deal putting it together. The assembled product is a quality piece that will be around for a long time.

Great Designer Product
This stand looks very elegant and sturdy! this is my first flat panel stand purchase and i'm impressed! there is more hardware sent than required (maybe to cover a range of different TV sets). i have a samsung 52 inch 1080p LCD HDTV and it holds it perfectly! please download the manual online here [...] before starting to fix this stand! the manual that comes will be good only for certain type of tvs.
