This projector is awesome for the price! It was extremely easy to install / setup and provides a good, quality picture, with low noise levels for a novice like me. I bought mine slightly used, and the lamp burned out within the first 60 days, but Optoma's customer service was great to work with and replaced the lamp the first time, with no charge (I had to pay shipping one way). So far, the new lamp has held up just fine, and I love watching my 110" of projected big screen!
I would reccomed this projector to anyone who wants a good, quality picture and numerous options at a low price.

This is an upgrade from my old projector, which was a sharp XR-10x that recently blew the bulb. That projector (sharp)was 4+ years old and I was happy with the service it provided. But, when the bulb blew I decided to "upgrade" to this projector and I am really glad I did!. Picture is great, much better than the sharp, pushed by a PS3 and even non blue rays look great on the wall (matte white painted). I have approx 14 feet of throw and it produces a nice sized projection that is very clear. Menu seems okay, not any easier or harder than the old sharp unit.
Well worth the money!

I got home from work yesterday and my son tells me the projector is broken. It had an error saying Fan Failure, now it won't turn on. Contacted Amazon for return authorization and they automatically ordered another for me. I'm waiting on UPS to pick up the old one and Amazon to ship my new one. My order page estimates delivery for today, but it hasn't shipped so I'm pretty sure I won't get it today. So far I'm not pleased with this projector, but maybe I just got a bad one and the new one will last longer than 5 days.

Spend much time researching projector purchase and I agree with all the five star ratings this projetor has received throughout the world. Color, definition, contrast, etc. are perfection and the LBX setting produces an 8' x 3.5' CinemaScope image of extraordinary quality (without an anamorphic attachment) in our new home theater even with the room lighting at one-half level. The projector and our super 5.1 Dolby sound system creates a true theater experience. In fact, no theater I've attended in NYC or LA has better sound or picture; even with 70mm projection. You gotta get one of these.

I did some research on projectors, wanting to stay as much under one thousand that I could. I was ready to buy the Mitsu HD1600 due to the great price, but a friend that is really into these things recommended this HD65 for the extra one hundred forty at the time. I am very pleased with the result. It is also much smaller than I thought. I do not have blu-ray yet, but do have HDMI with dvd. Also WOW looks great on the wall. I was going to ceiling mount, but it worked out to have it behind the couch on shelfs with all the HT stuff, and the keystoning is good enough that I am quite pleased I didnt have to ceiling mount. Unlike another post, I actually appreciate that the remote lights up brightly. I have a 100" screen going and there is a very small screen door effect......but only if you walk up to the screen. Sitting at normal distance I cannot see it. (buy ultra white 36 foot roll of background paper from your local camera shop and make your own screen(s)).
I read some posts about adjusting the default color, saturation, hue settings, and followed them. I 'think' it looks better than the default.
I spent 330 to get a HT receiver that has tru pass through hdmi and switching for other video connections...to reduce the cables that need to go to the projector.
An excellent product.
