Not Micro-USB
(3 out of 5) by BC on Jul 20, 2009This is one of the first things that popped up when I did a search for a retractable micro-usb cable. It is a mini-usb cable used for a Creative Zen "Micro" or "Micro" Photo. Nowhere in the description did it say that it was mini-usb. That's what I get for assuming, I suppose. It was cheap and would have cost me more to return than to keep, so I just bought a mini-usb to micro-usb adapter for it.
I know I shouldn't knock off any stars for the mix-up in mini- and micro- but you would think that would be stated somewhere.
Edit: I bought a mini-usb to micro-usb adapter so I could still use the retractable data cable to charge my phone. When I plug it in, the phone turns off and says "battery required". The adapter works fine with another mini-usb cable, so I would assume that it's this retractable data cable causing the issue.

Cool little gadget

My phone, my camera, and my Zen V Plus mp3 player all use this format of cord. Originally, I had 3 of these identical cords, one for each device. However, I have a little orange male tabby cat.
This cat like to chew cords. He never chews power cords, he only chews headphone cords and USB cables. As such, all 3 cords were annihilated after I'd unintentionally leave them within his reach. 3 additional cords that I had bought met a similar fate.
So I bought this device, tried it out (works great, by the way) and then set it out (in retracted form) for my cat. There are teeth marks in the case and on the plastic parts of the plugs, but he couldn't get through it. So I give this product two thumbs up for people who own cord-chewing orange cats. Works just as well as the "normal" cords for data/power, and I don't have to wind it up.
In short: Does what it says it should do, the price is right, and it's cat-proof.

Neat, tidy, and kinda cute

Excellent Quality Cellet

This cable was made with softer, almost rubber-like plastic on the connectors and feels like it will last a long time. It seems like a very high-quality product. It was branded "Cellet" (I have bought other things from them -- all good).
