Good solid phone... works great!

(5 out of 5) by Electonics Fan on Jan 27, 2008 (Austin, TX USA)
Great sound quality. Even the speakerphone on the handset has very good sound quality. The numbers on the handset are good size. The battery life has be great so far but have used it just over a week now.

I returned the Uniden DECT 2080-5 DECT6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System, Call Waiting/Caller Id, and Extra 4 Handsets and Chargers for this Panasonic since the Uniden had poor sound quality.

The five numbers dialed is stored in the redial list on each handset -- a very useful feature.

The caller id uses the phonebook so the name displayed is what is in the phonebook rather than what is sent via caller id.

I paid $65 at Sam's club and I'm very happy with it.

Overall, a very solid cordless phone. Just wished the handset had a lit keypad and had a vibrate option for the ringer.

Easy!

(5 out of 5) by E. Gibson on Aug 3, 2008 (Decatur, GA)
I purchased this phone for my parents who are in their 80's. It was VERY easy to install and set-up, and not too difficult for those who are technically challenged to use. The sound is excellent. The answering machine worked well, and there were just enough choices in sound and ring tones to suit them. It takes up very little space and the phones are in sync which saves a lot of time. You don't have to run back to the answering machine phone to see who called or retrieve messages.

Consumer Reports Favorite

(5 out of 5) by js on Jul 17, 2008
We were looking for a phone with good speaker quality as well as answering machine capabilities. This phone was rated highly by Consumer Report and we have been very happy with the speaker quality, as well as the long talk time, two things we were looking for. The speaker sound quality is very good.

Perfect for home office / business work

(5 out of 5) by Gadget Lover on Oct 17, 2008 (USA)
I have used these phones for over a year and can't be any more pleased. My previous Vtech 2.4ghz phones were dying and interfered with wi-fi constantly.

These Panasonic phones work perfectly, as good as talking on a landline. Here are some great key features:

1. 2.5mm headset connection for use with headsets.
2. MUTE button works easily and very well for long conference calls.
3. Speaker phone quality is perfect. Most people can't tell if I'm using the speaker phone on the handset, or using a headset, or talking directly into the handset without speaker phone turned on.
4. Voice quality is perfect, no complaints from anyone when I do conference calls and am speaking to dozens of people.
5. DECT 6.0 technology means very long range, and no interference with wifi / microwaves. Also DECT 6.0 provides enhanced security.
6. Uses standard AAA nimh batteries so it's easy and cheap to find batteries anywhere. My VTECH 2.4 Ghz phones use a proprietary battery that was very hard to find.

If you do a lot of phone calls, work from home, or a small business, you can't beat these phones. As someone who is on the phone for hours every day, I love these phones!!!

Very Good Overall

(4 out of 5) by Faustus on Nov 2, 2008 (The Biggest Little City in the World)
This Panasonic system works great for making and receiving calls. The handsets are well laid out and the keypad is very easy to use. Call quality is excellent and so is the usable range between base units and handsets. The LCD on the handsets is monochromatic and useful -- there is no need for a multicolor display. The time of day is displayed on each handset.

The answering system works well, too. Very easy to retrieve messages and to screen messages as they are received -- a neat feature is that you may screen from any handset, not just the base unit, so no need to get to a particular handset to do so. Recorded messages may be listened to from the base unit or the handsets, another convenience. There is a new message indicator on the base unit and on the handsets.

My only complaint: after listening to a new message, the message indicators turn off, so there is no way to know if there are saved messages to be played again. A better solution would be to have separate indicators for new and saved messages.
