A Good Deal

Foolishly I had been paying to "rent" a modem from my Internet provider and this will pay for itself in 2 months. Arrived in a timely manner in perfect condition.

***WARNING*** This is a REFURBISHED product

(1 out of 5) by B. Peterson on Jul 18, 2008
This product page is not clearly labeled at all, so please be warned that this is a refurbished product that comes with a limited 90-day warranty.

The product description cryptically indicates this with 'REFURB', and I missed that until after the product arrived and I noticed that the product's box indicated that it was a refurbished cable modem.

The cable modem itself may be fine, but I was not pleased by the confusion and will be returning the cable modem.

I did just speak with customer service, and they were helpful as usual. I asked that they put the word 'refurbished' in the product's name so no one else has this same confusion.

So, yes, I hate the item, but I still love Amazon! :)

Refurbished- didn't even work

(1 out of 5) by K. Coulter on Dec 9, 2008 (Bay Area, CA)
Product is REFURBISHED. Wish I would have seen the other review before purchasing. The AC Adapter included was a dud- rather than dealing with the hassle of returning it, I simply used an old adapter that I just happened to have, then it worked fine.
Many times refurbished products are not such a bad idea- the item has supposedly been tested after being sent back to the manufacturer, but after this I will never buy a Linksys refurbished product.
Shame on Amazon.com for not clearly stating such an important detail in the description.
