Be aware: may be used already!

Tivo designed the card so poorly such that the redemption code is visible without opening the plastic packaging, making the job of a thief extremely easy! In Nov. 2007, I ordered a $100 gift card along with a tivo box, directly from Amazon. However, it turns out that the gift card code is invalid. Called Tivo. They said the card had been redeemed in October already! Amazon would not send a replacement card. Only after many calls to Tivo, Tivo agreed to send a replacement.

Great add on.

I got this gift card along with my new Tivo Dual tuner DVR. It was very easy to just log on to Tivo's site and use this gift card. The only negative thing I would say is that the amount doesn't cover a full year, which would have been a nice even touch, but I'm certainly not complaining! It made it very easy to sign up for the Tivo service, and this was my first experience with Tivo!

"Gift" card

When I purchased the Tivo that came with this card, I thought, "What can I lose? The "Gift Card" will offset the price of the Tivo." I was replacing an existing Tivo that did not have the capability of recording/watching two programs. When I tried to activate the "Gift Card", I found that it is valid for NEW service only. I believe that this disclaimer should be somewhere in the product description.
