Greate company - poor product

(2 out of 5) by M. Kelerikh on Oct 29, 2008
Good
Greate price tag.

Bad
POOR software (good for not experienced user, bad for experienced user).
SLOW software interface - takes 20mins to setup something that should take 2 min at the most.
VERY SLOW SPEED when coping directly on to the drive (40min for 20gb file).
not NTFS file system - if board inside the cover goes down you CANT copy off the date with XP.

Garbage product and Worse Customer Service

(1 out of 5) by Sean D. Stutzman on Oct 10, 2008 (Somewhere in Oregon)
Purchased LaCie product to store my iTunes. Within one week the drive crashed. I called customer support and they refused to help me and honor the warranty. I eventually (year and a half later) reset the entire drive after finding no other option to save or retrieve my files, losing 10,000 songs. I began reloading the library and the system crashed again. LaCie refused to help saying the warranty had expired, but had I purchased one now, they had an extended warranty. Do not mess with LaCie equipment.

D.O.A.

(1 out of 5) by Daniel J. Jensen on Sep 10, 2008 (San Jose, CA USA)
I wouldn't say it wasn't breathing, but that was about the only sign of life.

I couldn't connect to my "ethernet disk mini" via either supported interface (Ethernet or USB). I followed the installation steps for Mac, using my iBook G4 with Mac OS X 10.4.11-installed, trying both "System Preferences" and the LaCie IPConfigurator utility. I suppose it's possible that my AirPort could be to blame somehow for my inability to find the drive on my network, but that wouldn't explain my inability to connect via USB. I don't have time to wrestle with the thing any longer. Sorry if this is a one-in-a-million failure, but I've got to register my experience.

No trust on this seller

(1 out of 5) by Tram Lam on Dec 2, 2008
Although Amazon have a lot of good deal, but the seller is lie about the product. It was advertise as new, but I got it as used item. Seller said they will give me discount and credit back to my account, I hear nothing back from seller and no discount has been credit back.
