Good for large backups and data transfer

(4 out of 5) by Omgee on Dec 17, 2008 (Tacoma, WA USA)
I bought this product with the idea of using it as a relatively fast, portable way to keep my files current on both my home computer and the computers I use at my university. It does that perfectly well. The price for the large amount of storage space was well worth it (I got it for $24.95 on sale), and the speed is not exceptional but good enough for my purposes. So far, after two months, it's held up well in my backpack, and it's been reliable from what I've seen.

I did also hope to use it as a ReadyBoost drive for Windows Vista, but Windows reports that it is not fast enough. So, although the description says "ReadyBoost Compatible," with my system, it was not.

The price is higher now, so there may be a better drive for the money, but for what I paid, it's fine. I do wish it had come with a lanyard, but whatever... lanyards are cheap.

Four out of five, because of the ReadyBoost issue. Fortunately, that wasn't a big priority for me, but if it had been, I would have returned the drive.

Just get it

I bought this to run a Windows Server OS system on it as a test system. It does the job. It is lightning fast? No, but it is not slow either. Works for me.

Flash Drive is great for different things!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 1, 2009
(I'm twelve not really a "Kids Review") Since I have Vista i wanted a flash drive which I can take to school, is small and has good storage size. On my birthday when I got this I right away thought this was too small to be a 16 gig. I was very wrong about it, so then I used ready boost. Now my vista is even faster which is great for playing games. (THE only problem is when it boot up the computer it says NOT A BOOTABLE Device. Just take it out and put it back in ! I've also backed up most of all my info and movies. This is great NO problems at all, (OF course if a are trying to do too big of a file at once over 5+ gigs it will say (NOT ENOUGH SPACE) even though there is.

Never buy this

This drive worked *alright* for a while. After a few months, the casing separated and needed to be super glued back together. Some time later, about 75% of it simply died. i pulled a 12GB file off of it and it ceased to be able to store any ammount of data over about 4.2GB after that. File size did not matter. I reformatted the drive and repartitioned the drive as well as ran HD recovery and scanned for bad sectors, all to no avail. I sold it off to someone else as a 4GB drive cause thats all it ended up being.
