simply amazing!
i did a lot of research when i was looking for my new surround sound. after reading reviews on several different recievers, i finally decided to go with the denon avr-1908. i paired this reciever up with all klipsch speakers and a 10 inch klipsch sub. i used the klipsch quintet II surround speakers, and a pair of klipsch rb-15 front bookshelf speakers to complete my 7.1 surround. combined with the klipsch sub-10 this set up sounds amazing!
i have read a lot of reviews about how hard the denon avr-1908 reciever is to set up do to the horrible layout of the manual, but really its not as complicated as some have made it sound. it takes a little bit of time and patience but to make the reciever make your speakers sound as good as they can, its all worth it in the end. if you just read through the manual as you set up everything, it explains everything step by step.
i will say that if it had a third hdmi imput it would be even better but 2 imputs works good with what i have. i have my ps3 and cox hd cable box hooked into the reciever, and it allows easy switching from one to the other. all in all i have to say that i am more than impressed with this whole set up and would highly recomend it to anyone looking for a great 7.1 home theater surround sound system.

A super value
I have been using this receiver for a few weeks now, and it is everything I hoped it would be. The surround sound is just great, and I am making good use of all the options for inputs and outputs that this fantastic box offers. The HDMI 1.3 switching is just what I needed for my HD-DVD player and my HDTV. They all work great together for a superb audio and visual experience. The price of this unit is very reasonable considering the great technology and performance that you get for your money.

Set up is crazy on this receiver
Unless you are very experienced with these types of components you can forget about setting this receiver up yourself. The manual instructions are terrible. The menu system is like something from 1990. That being said the sound is great once set up. Better call in the Geek Squad on this one.

might be a good receiver. Incomprehensible manual, so it's hard to tell
Worst manual I've ever seen in an electronics product. Tells you all sorts of details of how to alter the crossover frequencies, and such. Doesn't actually tell you how to use the product. The user interface is, if anything, slightly worse. For example, there is a button called "analog". No idea what it does, but after you press it, you can never turn it off.
These guys need to get lessons from Apple.
