Great Stereo

(5 out of 5) by N.C. Liberg on Jul 24, 2008 (IL, USA)
This is a great CD player. It has many features, but is not that hard to use them. I bought it for my 2007 Ford Ranger XL and except for the hole left, since my truck came with a taller, more basic tape deck, it looked great. However since I'm a fairly skilled person, I made a carbon fiber plate to cover the hole. Now it looks wonderful. For those of you not so handy, adapters are available to eliminate the hole if it doesn't fit perfectly in your vehicle. Anyway, this is a great stereo for the price and I'd recommend it to anyone I know who is looking for a stereo with the features that this has.
Things I liked:
1.Will play not only audio cds, but also data ones that have MP3s and WMAs.
2.Input jack is great. Anything with a headphone jack can be plugged in and played on the car/truck speakers.
3.Removable faceplate is a cool security feature for those who park their vehicles in unsavory places. Fortunately I don't think I'll ever need to use it.
4. Has an actual lcd screen unlike many stereos that only have leds. So it's a lot smoother and more eye pleasing.

Things I didn't care for:
1.It beeps three times when you turn off the vehicle and exit it. I have grown used to it, though.
2. Every once in a while, it runs through its list of features on the lcd screen. Pushing "source" will stop it from going on and on.(can be turned off)

Great Sound Quality

(4 out of 5) by joe on Jun 3, 2008 (joe)
Great sound quality!!! Would recommend anyone to buy one. For this price, you can't ask for more.

One thing i do want to point out is, you can't press the number buttons to jump to a track when you are in CD mode. Those buttons don't do anything when you press on them. So, say you want to go from track one to track 12, you'll have to press the forward button 12 times to get to track 12.

great stereo at a great price

(5 out of 5) by Jon S. Berndt on Jul 10, 2008 (The Space City: Houston, Texas)
This car stereo is a great unit, and the price seems better than all the other ones I looked at. I wondered what the catch was, but I was completely satisfied after I had installed the unit. Installation was fairly easy in my '94 Ford Mustang, though the instructions for installation seemed a bit out of order. Other than that, Sony seems to have paid attention to what customers (or at least this one) want in a car stereo.

5 Star

(5 out of 5) by ron j dio on May 10, 2008 (Macungie, PA)
Very nice unit. It replaced a similar but older one so it was quite easy to install (1995 4Runner). Extremely easy to program and adjust to my tastes. Very good reception and play back.

Great Deck for a Great Price!

(4 out of 5) by Gregalo on Nov 3, 2009 (SLC, UT)
I bought this looking for a low-priced deck for my '00 Xterra, thinking I'd just update later. I ended up loving this deck! It's simple yet allows great sound and a lot of different modes. I was very happy with the deck. Great price for a great deck.

I never had any issues with the CD player. Everything worked just fine for me.
