Nice but a little overpriced

(4 out of 5) by J. Smith on Feb 8, 2008 (Chicago, IL)
Takes just an hr to put together. Looks good. Cable guides are nice but a little annoying. Labels on parts a bit too hard to take off. Size holds 5 or 6 components with ease. The high gloss finish looks slick with a high gloss TV.

Decent flat panel stand

(4 out of 5) by K Schroeder on Nov 20, 2007 (St. Peters, MO USA)
Well what can I say...we bought this stand since it was silver/black and would go with our new TV and A/V Receiver. It seems to be solidly constructed, the only problem we had with putting it together was one of the holes that the "feet" are supposed to screw into wasn't drilled properly so we couldn't get the bolt in. After we worked on it for about 30 minutes, we ended up buying a metric bolt that was slightly smaller (a 7mm I think) that worked well enough to hold the foot on. The glass shelves are about 3/8" thick and seem solid. They are a very dark smoke color (almost black). I haven't wired everything up through the cable management rails in the back, but they seem functional (though it can be a little hard to get the end of the cable out of the hole, depending on the connector).

Outstanding Value - I highly recommend this Bush TV Stand

I went to ~8 different stores looking for the right TV stand. I narrowed it down to the Bush 50" stand and higher-end models from BDI and Bell'o. I bought the Bush unit - VS74952 from Best Buy (it's 50" wide, not the VS74950 48"-wide TV stand here on Amazon). Even though I liked the looks of the BDI and Bell'o units a little more, the Bush TV stand is also very attractive and it's glossy black finish blends in very well with my black TV and my black speakers on each side. I needed to fit a 7.5" tall center channel speaker on the middle shelf and electronic equipment 7.5" high. I found that it would have been a very tight squeeze into the BDI and Bell'o TV stands (they only provide 6.5" openings into the shelves) so equipment would have to be loaded from the top and there wouldn't be good clearance for sound and IR remote access.

The Bush TV stand is very sturdy, has good instructions for assembly, and has a good cable management system. Even the box and styrofoam that the Bush TV stand comes in is well designed. I paid $270 + tax at Best Buy - this unit is a great value and is the best deal that I found. I'm very happy with it.

Great stand

This stand is great, it's well made and very attractive. It complements my 61" Samsung DLP. There is enough room to hold all my home theater gear.

Solid elegance!

This is a perfect stand for any large flat panel LCD or plasma TV. It took me maybe a half hour to 45 minutes to assemble it. Assembly is no problem at all. The included instructions are completely visual and easy to follow. All the hardware is very nicely and safely packaged and the only tool you need is the included Allen wrench. By the way, I noticed some confusion in one of the other customer reviews about the actual dimensions of the shelf. I don't know if Amazon has it in all of its different sizes, but I've seen the exact same shelf in several different sizes ranging all the way up to 58". Just pick the one that suits your needs. It's very strong, well-designed, sturdy, and elegant. The glass shelves are firm and attractive and support a lot of weight for your TV and home theatre components. 154 lbs for the top shelf and 50 lbs. for each of the lower two shelves (if memory serves). It has an attractive open design which not only looks great but is perfect for ventilating a high wattage receiver or other electronic components on the lower shelves. It even has plenty of room on the middle shelf for a large center channel speaker (like my big Infinity). And because of the open design it's easy to insert your components onto the shelves and feed all the wires, cords, cables, etc. to the back of the shelf. It even has some nice hollow metal vertical channels in the back for hiding all the cables if you like. I have a 52" Sony LCD TV sitting on mine, along with a large center channel speaker on the middle shelf, and a big receiver and a blu-ray player on the lower shelf. It's a very strong and sturdy, yet elegant piece of furniture. Really just plain perfect. I'm very happy with it!
