I really like this unit. I live very near a large city, so my weather readings are fairly accurate. It is very easy to read I the colored background (when hooked to AC) are a nice feature. Be aware, though, it is bright. It lights up my entire kitchen at night. I did experience two drawbacks. I wanted to put it on my fridge, but the magnet is way too weak. Had to use a 3M hook. Also, I could not get it to work on just battery power. I am sure I could have returned it, but I just hooked it up to AC so I could use the colored backgrounds.
I got the same thing for $29.99
I don't turn on my t.v. or computer in the morning before leaving for work so I wanted one of these to be able to see the weather forecast and dress accordingly each morning. The build in magnet is quite strong so I put in on my refrigerator. Brookstone had it on sale for $29.99 and so I bought it there. My understanding is that (even though it looks exactly the same) the one I bought is an older model that doesn't capture the radio signal as well as the newer ones. This only matters if you live outside of a large city or in a rural area. Since I live in the middle of a big city it wasn't an issue for me. I like it a lot (it updates every 15 minutes) but dont' know that I'd pay over $100 for it.

Not a bad deal if you get it for free.
I picked this up at Wal-Mart a few months back for $50 with a $50 rebate.. Free. Then I realized the closest city in the list was about 80 miles away. It gave us a decent idea of the weather but wasn't accurate for our area because of our distance. Last night I unplugged it to open up the power outlet for something else. Now that I have it plugged back in I keep getting the "Network Not Found, Try another location".. I haven't moved it, it is in the same location that it was when it worked for 3 months.
The different colors were nice but as someone already mentioned, they only work when plugged in and not when used on battery AND you can't dim the brightness.
This was a great deal for us considering it was free and it did work for about 3-4 months. Other then that it will probably go in the garbage.

5-day forecaster
This was a birthday gift to me and we are very pleased with it. Not a day goes by that we don't refer to it. The forecasts have been accurate. It makes a great night-light, too!
Great forecaster to have around
It does what it supposed to do. It's pretty accurate and it's easy to operate.
Using the buttons on the front, you can scroll back and forth to choose your closest city to download weather updates for. A button on the back is used to set your time zone. That's all there is to the setup of this device.
It mirrors the weather forecast from [...] very closely every time I've checked. This saves me from having to look it up, when I can glance at the end table.
The colored back lighting gives visual clues to the current temperature outside as well. This feature only works when the forecaster is using the adapter, not on batteries. The item can run without the adapter on 4 AAA batteries if desired. I use the batteries more for a power backup in case of power outrages, to save on time resyncing.
I guess WalMart had a sale on these that allowed people to end up getting them for free after $50 rebate. Because of this, you can buy new ones online fairly cheaply without UPC labels from people are were able to pick them up. Well worth the money in my opinion.
