Best Laptop

(5 out of 5) by Wayne J. Mcferran on Nov 17, 2007 (USA)
Terrific laptop especially for the price. I've owned a Dell and a Gateway this beats both by a mile. the quality is great and the 17" screen is crystal clear, I'd buy it again in a minute.

Great laptop

(5 out of 5) by Nicholas Manno on Dec 26, 2007 (Orlando FL)
The first thing I noticed is how light this machine is. For a 17" notebook it rests comfortably on your lap. Performance is quite speedy. It's well laid out - the webcam and mic are a plus as is the 2 Ghz of RAM. I have no complaints. I bought it for my wife and she likes it a lot. Nice notebook.

Runs great for a short time...

(3 out of 5) by J. Elam on Aug 20, 2009 (San Diego, CA USA)
I've had this laptop from fall of 2007 to the end of summer 2009. I purchased it for around $800. It worked flawlessly for the near 2 years I've had it. The 17" screen was great because my laptop also doubled as a TV. Although it was a really chunky device, making it difficult to haul around school.

I admit that it was most likely my fault due to overuse, as of a few days ago the hard drive completely blew out. (I decided to buy a new laptop instead of paying $300 for a new hard drive.)

I wouldn't recommend to purchase this laptop now as it's hard drive space is obviously outdated.

Poor Quality

(1 out of 5) by P. Jensen on Apr 7, 2009 (Las Vegas, NV)
Excitement turned to frustration pretty quickly as the screen kept going out and had to keep re-booting. Turns out that the processor was going bad from the get-go but hard to figure out. By the time I had it diagnosed the warranty was void and a little over a year and I need a new Processor. Wouldn't recommend this unit even though it looks pretty slick.
