I bought the Belkin PF30 as a hedge against the horrors coming out of my electrical sockets, and into my audio equipment. Before installing
the PF30, every time a heavy appliance or fluorescent light switched on/off....I would hear a pistol shot-like crack through the speakers.
After installing the PF-30, most of these disturbances were eliminated entirely...or at worst, result in a barely audible "tick" from the speakers, thus the unit appears to function "as advertised". I won't test the unit against a genuine lightning strike, preferring instead to unplug from the outlet entirely when storms are imminent.
The unit is really nicely made with good heft, and has a nice eye appeal without being gaudy or bright. Plenty of outlets (8) on the back, and provisions for your coaxial TV/Internet connections as well.
If you have ANYTHING invested in your electronics, you simply cannot be without some protection. The PF30 is an excellent choice.

Two Time Owner.
First off I like two say that this is the second time I brought Belkin PureAV Power Console PF30 - Surge suppressor. I brought one in Sept. 2002 and never regretted it. First off compared to other brand such as Monster I feel the quality is just as good and because of the price it make it a much better deal. There is no humming or noise from this unit and it look beautiful. Had one unit in my living for over six years now and it hasn't failed me yet.
The only small flaw with the unit is the power button. Four of the power outlets are always on, no matter if the unit switch is turned on or off, what ever you plug into the first four outlets it will always have power. The other four are powered on & off through the front switch. If the switch is not turned on, your electronics won't turn on. Now here's the problem the unit turns on quickly but turns off with a 2 or 3 sec. delay. It takes a little getting use to and you must make sure you here a click before you release the button or nothing will happen (the unit will not turn on or off). For some reason my wife always have trouble working the switch so I just leave it on for her. The Switch delay is used to turn off component which are hardly used and stereo receiver. The delay allow you to avoid the loud thumping sound speakers make when you quickly cut power to you speakers. Also it allows you to save on electricity on components you might not use that often. Buy it you won't regret it.

Excellent product... peace of mind
I'm not a professed audiophile... I'm not going to make claims this improves your picture or audio. I'd sooner pay for the 'worst case' scenario and losing expensive pieces of my home set-up would not be good.
For not much more than $100 I have peace of mind, a cabinet that is much tidier (I bought some nice short cables also) and protection.
Am going to buy another for the upstairs...

WOW WOW WOW
I am absolutely astounded by both the product and the service. First, the product.
When purchasing this unit, I knew that it was a very attractive unit and I knew it would provide great surge protection, but the idea of a fancy power supply actually changing my picture quality? no way! Boy was I wrong. I'm using a 42" Samsung Plasma DVE tweaked. Going into it are a PS3 and computer docking station both routed to a HK 140 receiver through HDMI ports. Audio is Optical from PS3 and Coax from docking station. This is routed via HDMI to the TV, and by 12-gauge to surround and sub. The PS3 has always been great, perfect resolution, very happy. The computer has annoyed me to no extent, though. Until today. I just turned on the computer through the docking station after re-routing all of my power through the PF30 and what I immediately notice is a) Cleaner, clearer picture. I don't know how else to describe it. b) Reduction in the dancing green pixels that inhabit Panasonic and Samsung plasma screens. VERY noticeable difference.
Sound quality - VERY noticeable difference. Routed my amp/receiver through the Hi-current port and it apparently worked well, the sound is much more robust and "full," as well as cleaner.
Now I expected to see NOTHING, but am hugely impressed with the computer. For the PS3, no real difference in picture quality but audio is, again, much better.
Now, about the distributor. I was worried ordering this for 79.99 from a company I have never heard of. I ordered it sunday and I received it thursday early afternoon, and this was with normal shipping. I am as happy as could possibly be with all aspects of this transaction and will have this unit on ALL of my future home theater setups.
