i recieved my product in a timely manner however, i was missing a piece needed to use it, and it was the wrong product. the radio i got looked nothing like the picture, and it was not the same radio, i was suppose to get a Kenwood KDC-MP208 - Radio / CD / MP3 player - Full-DIN - in-dash - 50 Watts x 4 but instead i got a Kenwood KDC-mp 288 car radio.
kenwood cd players are the best!
i bought this off of here for an ungodly cheap price brand new in the box! everyone i know wants to buy one just like mine lol not to mention kenwood is an exceptional brand and it was really easy to install even. i did it myself. and it makes a huge difference in the sound quality as compared to a factory radio/cd player or even a cheaper one. i would absolutely recommend this to anyone. and its got a front auxillary ipod hook up which i like better than the ones u have to wire with an interface in the back.

Excellent Sound, Great Value for money, works internationally
Pros:
- Easy installation (printed Manual lists steps and wiring instructions)
- Very good sound even on plain vanilla speakers
- Front AUX in
- Tuner has great reception
- Can show good info while playing (Artist or Album/Title or Title or Clock, ...)
- Supports any kind of CD I tried
- Can browse by folders
- Easy navigation
- LOTS of presets for FM
- I don't have an amplifier so I haven't tried the preamp output, but it is good to know it is there
- Solid construction, it feels very well built
- Of course the PRICE :-)
Cons
- Can't browse MP3's by file name or title, just folder then track number, even that is not the track number in the ID3 tag it is the number of the file in the folder.
- Can't cycle between info shown at playback, you select one kind of info and you are stuck with it :-)
- Doesn't support playlists (or I couldn't find a way)
- Screen not readable in direct sunlight (expected)
- It would be nice if it had a pouch for the frontplate, but that is asking too much for the price
Note: Though the manual says that only 138 and 238 has the ability to switch between US tuning (step=0.2 and range till 107.9) and European tuning (step=0.05 and range till 108) the same trick works for the 208.
To switch between tuning mode:
1- turn off the player
2- Press 1 & 5 (Tuner presets)
3- At the same time press SRC
Voila (Note all presets are removed when you do this)

probably better out their
for the price it's good and it works, i mainly bought it for the aux input. but it's really annoying for listening to the radio because you can't just go to a station and see if it comes in. u can only scan left or right, and my car does not have good reception so it's very difficult to get on your favorite station to save it to your fav's or just listen to it.

An okay receiver/CD unit
I bought this unit to replace a Kenwood unit in my truck that failed. Since the dimensions were the same, it was a "plug & play" installation (as I had anticipated). This unit is definitely not audiophile quality, but is better than the original factory unit and met my needs. Hopefully it will outlast the Kenwood unit it replaced.
