Unacceptable!

(1 out of 5) by N. Caruso on Mar 28, 2009 (Bloomfield, CT United States)
I got this phone for my mother , who can't hear well without her hearing aids. We've tried numerous phones purported to be for hearing impaired people, and have yet to find one that delivers the goods. We certainly thought that by buying a higher quality phone with features specifically for the hearing impaired, that we would have been happy with the results. Well, not this time. This one might have worked but the supposed "Extra Loud" ringer wasn't loud enough for my mom to her the phone ring. It lasted a couple days and was returned as unacceptable. I cannot recommend this phone as advertised.

finally a phone for my mother

(5 out of 5) by J. J. on Feb 24, 2009 (LI, NY)
have tried seven different phones over the past four years for my mother who is now ninety. Some were too complicated, some weren't loud enough, one would go dead after a few minutes of her conversing, one didn't register the number one after a few months of dialing. She has a lot of telemarketers call her but I also got her a big illuminated caller ID so now she doesn't pick up if she doesn't know the caller. She calls me triumphantly to tell me she has resisted the impulse, and says she finds nothing wrong with her new phone!

The phone

(5 out of 5) by Dennis J. Miller on Feb 21, 2009
My hearing ability is about 60% and one of my biggest problems is hearing the phone ring. This phone is great. I haven't missed a call yet and my conversations are now loud and clear. Not having to ask someone to repeat themselves several times also relieves me of a lot of embarrassment. The large pads and numbers are great too. I don't have to wear glasses to dial. I haven't tried all the available functions yet but being able to hear again is most satisfying. The phone is reasonably priced and of good quality.

Kind of Loud and clear

(4 out of 5) by Yeolla on Feb 7, 2009 (Calif)
Its was welcomed into its new home bringing a smile as now I can see the buttons, wish they were back lit though, and hear the ring, obnoxious in any other situation,
The phone could be better. Its not cordless, so doubt the 6.0 DECT really means anything. The magnified tone really picks up the static on the line. Though Gram doesn't seem to notice that at all. ITs really light weigh and slides around on the table top by her chair. Doesn't offer caller ID. It works for what it offers, but....
