Prefer over Corsair Voyager GT

(5 out of 5) by JB Ehrlich on Mar 21, 2008 (New York)
Have number of high capacity Corsair Voyager GTs but needed portable device with even higher capacity. Very pleased and surprised that in addition to the greater capacity that the speed on many file read/writes for the Ministation exceeded the Corsair GT.

In fact, we wrote to Corsair about our findings attaching the graphics showing our points, inquiring how the Buffalo Ministation could outperform the GT in a number of real world real time read/writes. We have not received a response from Corsair to date but pleased with the product have ordered additional Ministation units.

If the Ministation holds up, then without question the product could prove noteworthy to other purchasers. FYI, we did not use the turbo software included. We used the Ministation on systems with Vista Premium.

We applaud the product because it is small, light weight, high capacity, and runs with performance that from where we sit equals if not exceeds the Corsair Voyager GT. If we are correct, the product should be deemed a winner by many other consumers over time. While Buffalo provides an adjunct USB power cable, we determined we did not need it on our desktops or portable computers. This product seems well engineered and thus we look forward to seeing it prove itself reliable as well.

Just what I needed

This product arrived speedily, and functions exactly like it is supposed to. I am a mac user. Just google "reformat hard drive" on whatever mac system you are using (leopard, etc) and you'll find step by step instructions on how to reformat this for your computer.
