Not smart

(1 out of 5) by Mark W. R. Wilson on Nov 10, 2009
Too good to be true, at this price. Easy test- take the recharged batteries and put them back in-- there appears to be no overcharge protection, and the batteries will begin to heat up, especially the AAA due to the high charging current.

decent for the money

It is a little bigger than I expected and if you leave batteries in it for a long time it says they are charged but they are not. They have bled down and are basically empty. Not so "smart" of a charger after all.

Having a 9V charger is nice. I would buy this again because it is so much cheaper than other options but its not great, its just decent.

Useful charger

(5 out of 5) by Beanster on Oct 16, 2009 (NYC)
This charger is not only user friendly, but it is very useful.I have a number of different batteries which I use for flashlights, radios, cameras, and radio control airplanes and cars. This battery charger charges them all. That is I've charged D,C,AA,AAA and subC batteries.Although there are few subC chargers available,I was able to charge this battery on this charger.A definite must have, this charger's cost has been repaid a number of times already,by my not having to purchase batteries.

Great charger!

I love this charger! I love that I can use if for varying battery sizes. It works really well, and I have not had any problems with it. I've had it for about 2 months now, and still love it. I use it very regularly.

Individual charging is essential

Most chargers charge batteries in pairs. I think a long time ago gadgets used pairs of batteries so as long as you didn't mix them up that was okay. But now some gadgets use one or three batteries and you can't charge them in pairs because they're in different states of charge/discharge.

But this one does them individually, so it's clearly a better choice. It charges D-cell batteries so it's huge compared with AA and AAA chargers.
