The unit works alright. However, an important issue is not addressed in the manual; once Ipod is charged, are we supposed to disconnect the power? I am not sure whether keeping the Ipod always in the dock would decrease the battery performance...

I bought this to use a bedside charger for my iPhone 3g. After easily removing the accessory adapter tray from the bottom, my phone fits perfecty into this doc without having to remove the protective case. I currently have the Incipio protective rubber case on there, which is probably about the same thickness as any other rubber case. When setting it on the dock, I do get an error message saying "This acceory is not compatable with this device, would you like to go into airplane mode?" Initially, I would press "no". Now, I just put it on the charger and that message disappears on its own. Despite the message, it IS compatable (at least for charging) and charges my phone like a champ. I have not tried hooking it up to my stereo, so I can't comment on that. But, this is definitely the way to go as far as a convenient bedside charger for a reasonable price for your iPhone 3g.

Before buying, I read several reviews on multiple websites and settled on this product due to several positive reviews. It works as expected. If you are looking for a simple, inexpensive way to connect your iPod to a stereo (or other device), this is it. The base is weighted to give it some balance. It's small size allows it to fit in tight spaces. It will recharge the iPod. I think it has sync capability with a computer. (Comes with USB cable - though I haven't tried it.) The only odd thing about it is an incredibly bright, blue LED light built into the power cord. Not sure why they used such a bright light, but it works nicely as a night light!

My recent purchase was great, the Belkin Dock with USB Wall Charger for iPodproduct is working as it should be. Could not been a better transcation, the product arrived a day earlier than promised.

The Doc is perfect for what we needed and shipment was right one time too!
