"Close" To Original Cases

(4 out of 5) by BDRand on Aug 12, 2008 (Des Moines, IA USA)
These cases are great to have if you plan to maintain a collector's library of our favorite defunct video format. They work perfectly well, but, be advised, they are not identical to original HD DVD packaging. The color is a little more orange than the originals and a little more square (boxy) as well.
That being said, it's nice to have an option to replace worn or cracked cases with a reasonable facsimile of factory packaging. Most people probably would never notice the subtle differences.
Buy these cases and keep you collection looking great !

HD-DVD Replacement Boxes

(5 out of 5) by Jojavherye on Dec 28, 2008 (San Diego, CA United States)
Exactly as advertised! Bought these when I got a bunch of HD-DVD's from Hollywood Video to replace their boxes. Perfect fit, including the inserts!

Good for what they do

(5 out of 5) by bezoarrn on Jun 26, 2008
I needed extra HD DVD cases (I knoooooooow) for the Star Trek original series first series in HD DVD format. The original package leaves them all unprotected, and they cost TOO MUCH to scratch up. Got here fast and they work. End of story.

Perfect for my Star Trek - Season One HD-DVD's

(5 out of 5) by Steve T. on Sep 26, 2009 (Glendale, CA USA)
Yeah folks, I did not want to scratch my 10 Star Trek - Season One HD-DVD's, which come in terrible packaging, if you are going to be playing them with any frequency of use at all. This set came in 10 cases, just what I needed for the box set of them that I had. I went ahead and made case covers on my computer and printed them to put on each one of the cases. You know, labeling the episodes and what extras were on that particular HD-DVD for easy reference on the outside of the case and numbering them from the side view to tell what HD-DVD was in which case.

Good cases

Bought a few HD-DVD from Hollywood Video when they were dumping the format. These cases replaced the standard (and well worn) DVD cases that HV used. My HD-DVD shelf looks much better without the taller standard DVD cases sticking up here and there. Also good for keeping the firmware update discs in.

They are a bit more square in profile than most HD-DVD cases, but looking at my shelf, there are variations among the original cases I have anyway. If there is a minor color difference it is not noticable. The color matched much better than expected after looking at the item picture here.

The center button action is actually better than most. Pressing it to release pops the disc up and releases it completely, so you don't have to press and pry from the edge like others.

Recommended.

Mine were from Square Deal, not sure if others would be different or if they might stock slightly different versions in the future under the same item number.
