It came through for a unique situation

(5 out of 5) by Dan Mackey on Sep 2, 2008 (Beloit, WI USA)
I purchased this device to power a low voltage digital music synthesizer for use on a trailer in a local parade. There was no room to use a generator. In tests this power supply was able to power this device for 1.25 hours before the battery level started to drop. The parade last 45 minutes so the power was more than adequate. This will be great to use for practicing where there is no electricity available. I recommend it highly.

Can't get it to work properly for laptop, limited use for iPod

(1 out of 5) by BW on Dec 1, 2008
The word "laptop" in the product description may be deceptive. This unit died when attached to a small laptop. It is able to partially charge an iPod through one of two USB ports, after long periods of time charging itself. A year ago, I purchased a Black & Decker car starting batter pack that also was DOA. Obviously, I'm avoiding this brand from now on.

Conveniant

Charged my PSP, iPod and cell phone on one charge. Never charge anything at the same time or it will drain the battery like a tic.

Disappointing product

(2 out of 5) by Christopher T. Huynh on Aug 14, 2009 (Richardson, TX USA)
With the advertized 4AH battery, I was hoping to power some of my low-mid power (15W to 40W) lights and tools. The B&D worked fine for the first few recharges (I was able to get 1-2 hours runtime) but then dropped to 20-30 minutes. I have the same problem with their 20W power supply. I am giving up on NiMH-based batteries and planning to try the Xantrex/Duracell with the Li-ion batteries.
