will not power laptops
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2TQU4OIRO3P9E Although the packaging states "powers and re-charges" and shows a picture of a laptop along phones, ipods, and clearly states "Laptops and more" on front of package, this device will not power laptops.

Please read the specs...
I think folks who are giving it a bad rating need to read the specs on this device or call Black & Decker BEFORE buying. This device is NOT meant to run a laptop on. At all. This device will power or charge small devices like an iPod, Cell phone, etc. You can recharge digital camera batteries with it using their charger, etc. That's it. One of the photos shows it with an iBook, but when I called Black & Decker they said that really this device is not meant to run laptops - but it will recharge a laptop battery if you have an external charger or if the laptop is small and the volt requirements allow you to recharge it directly.
It's good for that purpose. If the power goes out, you can still recharge your cell phone, iPod, camera or whatever in that category. The power storage in it is not rated to run laptops, and it doesn't hold enough power to do it. Likewise, it might actually damage a laptop if you try to use it for that purpose. So I give it a good rating if you use it for what it was made for. Please read the specs before trying to use it for something it's not designed to do.

B&D CPI100B Power to go power supply review
I purchased the Black & Decker 100 watt laptop Power To Go cordless AC/USB power supply to use to exclusively
power my ipod. I recently went to California on vacation and I wanted to extra run-time power for viewing video's on my iTouch. I paid fifty dollars for the power supply and discovered that the unit would not run my iTouch for very long. I attempted to recharge the unit several times but each time I got the same results. the power supply will not hold a charge and immediately drops down to zero. i am lucky to get one recharge and
perhaps two hours of run time on my iTouch. this unit supposedly designed to run a laptop computer! I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED with the performance of the product and can not recommend this device. I also notice that the manufacturing date stamped on the device was early 2007 which leads to wonder if the batteries have developed a short chemical memory due to the extended shelve time. I hope this review helps. Save your money and find something that actually works.

OK, but overrated. Be careful.
Once fully charged (does take nearly a day) it will power a portable DVD player for 2 hours. Player and screen rated use of 27W - well below what product manual states the device can handle (80 W continuous or 100 W for 5 minutes) - disappointed in run time. Have not tried my laptop, but do not expect it to work for long, if at all.

Very Pleased - Good deal for the price
I bought two of these to extend the taping time for my camcorder. Rather than buy enough batteries specifically for my camcorder (at $56 each)to tape six hours worth of youth football I bought the Black and Decker 100 Watt Power to go. I actually bought two but I havent needed to open the second one because the first has performed so well. I have run a myriad of small items off of it so far and it has performed very well. It does get warm during use so make sure its out where it can breath. My only complaint is that the charge status lights do not give a good representation of when the battery will stop working. It could be still on four or five bars when it quits. It also takes several hours to reach full charge so be patient before you test it out.
Summary - For the low price and versatility I am very pleased with this product.
