Review of Panasonic 58 inch Plasma 1080P HDTV
(5 out of 5) by Arthur Tepper on Nov 15, 2007 (Tampa, FL United States)Product is big and beautiful and delivers a brilliant picture .....best picture of standard broadcasts (non HD) can be achieved by connecting a good high quality Audio/Video receiver via HDMI 1.3 connection. This setup upgrades the normal standard cable broadcast to near HD. Suggestion: Onkyo (I installed an Onkyo SR-875) has several receivers that will do this. Sit within 7 feet from this screen and its like looking through a window!!

No HDMI and dual Picture

I bought this tv because of the dual picture feature and the 3 hdmi ports. What I did not know was that the hdmi and dual picture are incompatible. If the tv is set up through hdmi then you can't use the dual picture feature. Whats up with that?

Excellent TV - Rich Colors

The Yellow freight driver put it at the front door, and I pushed it to my family room. Very pleased with the purchase experience.
The TV has rich vibrant colors, and is a pleasure to watch. I do not have HD cable yet - so SD is okay. However, when I connect the Wii to it, I am floored with the quality of images - I never felt great about Wii's graphics, but this TV forces me to change my opinion (Imagine playing XBox or PS on this !!). The sound is very good - at 25% volume, it is very loud and clear.
I had this TV for less than 24 hours, but am very happy so far. I will update this after a few months of use.
** If you are buying it online, get some help, as this TV is heavy - it is about 175 lbs with Stand ***

Awesome TV
(5 out of 5) by frazipe on Nov 2, 2007 (tucson, az)This is my first Plasma/HD TV and after much research I decided on the 58" 750U. I came to the conclusion that this was the 3rd best rated Plasma available and the 4th best TV over 50" behind the Pioneer Elite, Pioneer Kuro and the Sony 52" Bravia XBR. The biggest Bravia available is the 52" (except for the 70" at 32K) and I wanted as close to 60" as possible. The Pioneer's were just too expensive for me. So, I ordered this TV and am loving it. It looks incredible playing Blu-Ray and has the best display for SD that I have seen (next to the elite/kuro). So far I am totally impressed with this TV.

Mixed Feelings

Purchased through Amazon the TV was about $1000 cheaper than I could get in my area (Denver). TV was sold by 6ave - delivery was fast and efficient in less than a week. Tv worked great for 3 weeks and then went belly up. I had to go back to an old 9 inch screen! 6ave wouldn't help at all - just passed me off to Panasonic. Panasonic actually was pretty helpful. Local repair shop was great ($800 repair to the power unit).
Pros: Great picture
Cons: Seems underpowered in the sound department, No PIP with HDMI, little guidance to get the best picture (the picture settings are overwhelming, TV died after 3 weeks, standard picture looks terrible comparatively, standard picture cannot be sized to widescreen (you'll notice a difference on HD picture (full screen) that goes to 4:3 for commercials that are not HD.
