Bravo, Bravia!

(5 out of 5) by Michele C. Sherwood on Apr 6, 2008 (Northern CA USA)
I've had other home theater systems (less expensive) but this one definitely fits the bill! If you put out money for the Bravia HDTV, you definitely want your sound to match. This will do it nicely. As always, you have the choice of floor stands or wall mounting (the latter is my preference).

Now, if I could just find someone who understands why my Blu-ray player can't seem to recognize the system correctly, even though it sends the sound there. The self test of the speakers for the Panasonic player only seems to recognize the two tall front speakers -- no others. Sigh.

Big Bang for the buck!

This is my 2nd sound system. My first was a Pioneer with serious Polk Audio speakers. That system cost me well over $1200 when all was said and done. To be honest, this Bravia system, which I got from Amazon for $349, is as good, if not better than that system. And, as far as Home Theater "in a box" setups go, this system is reasonably expandable. You might need a switcher or two if you have several devices to hook up, but I am extremely pleased with the sound quality that I get.

I am always fascinated by Sony products and here it is again proved Sony is the best. This home theatre is really good. I enjoyed the sound effects.

Very good.

My wife wanted wireless speakers, and I wanted to be able to hook my 360 to it through the optical cable, so we went with this system. It does a good job with the surround sound and upconverted DVD's look a little better. The only negative I can think of is that a seperate device is needed to have wireless rear speakers, but what can you do? Recommended.

I am very pleased with the Sony DAHDX 500i surround sound system. I checked many different systems, and was very pleased with my choice. The Price of the Sony theater was considerly cheaper from Amazon .com than other venders. The sound quality is excellent, and you will not be disappointed by choosing the Sony. I would reccomend HDMI cables for both the audio and video for your home theater; which are not supplied by the vender.
