Nice unit but could use more Bass

(3 out of 5) by Mr. Richard J. Harper Jr. on Apr 12, 2008
This is a really nice unit except that it lacks some deeper bass. I have a Sonly 46" XBR LCD and it works perfect with the Theatre sync button. You have to turn the unit way up to get a good sound but again if it had more bass it would be a perfect system. I see these units at Sears for $499 so the price is good here. Can't beat it.

Great for the price

(4 out of 5) by Robert Rodriguez, Jr. on Mar 27, 2008
Excellent deal, It's everything and more.
Pros: Self Calibration, DVD up-sampling, Sharp clean sound, Price
Con: It's not as loud as I would like.
Nitpicky
I haven't had to max it out, I just would like the power to be there if I wanted it.

Sony Home Theatre

(5 out of 5) by John J. Pizzi on Nov 22, 2007 (Arizona, USA)
The quality of the product is very high. It has functioned very well with no problems. Very easy to hook up as the instructions are very clear and explicit. I'm comfortable with the Sony name and look forward to good experience.

I really like the Ipod attachment. Very good

Easy to set up and decent but the bass is a bit dull

(4 out of 5) by Todd J. Anderson on Dec 3, 2009 (Marquette)
first off I'm compelled to review and pass on that the headphone jack will not accommodate the average adapter that allows a wireless headphone dual RCA to stereo headphones due to the shape of the headphones slot on the DVD unit. it just wont fit in the deep socket but I'm sure there is an extension that will work. other than that....

A decent system and has been easy to set up and disassemble as I have to move every 6 months. The unit always packs away nicely and travels well when putting it back in a box. Would get a smaller unit though as the box is quiet large. Decent sound but the base can be a bit dull and loud through an apartments walls hence the need for wireless headphones.

NOT BAD

Good sound, good looks. It has preset equalizer sounds though which I dont care for( you cant adjust the bass or treble to your liking). I have put this one in my bedroom(totally awesome) and bought one with a little more kick(but it cost me $200 more) for the family room. So in a nut shell- if your looking for a first surround sound system without spending too much-this Sony is for you, but if your looking to knock your socks off, spend the few more hundreds of dollars. Dont take me wrong, I wasnt disappointed, it just wasnt what I was looking for.
