A fifth of an iPod touch in price and features

(3 out of 5) by Shashi Kant on Dec 18, 2008 (Cambridge MA)
I think the title says it all. This costs about a fifth of an iPod touch and does pretty well for the price. Despite colorful images shown here, do not expect it to have anything even close to the polish and finesse of an iPod. It has an ersatz feel to - the screen is unresponsive to say the least, the buttons are hard to move around etc.

However for that price what can you expect?

I was disappointed.

(2 out of 5) by T. Zhou on Dec 16, 2008
This video works well for images, good screens.

But you can't fast forward the audio to the section you like. So to hear the part at the end of a 20 min dialogue, you have to listen the entire sequence! That was very disappointing.

The disc that they sent me cannot install. It kept on saying error message when I tried to install it. (I use Vista)

I tried to load regular avi files to mp3, and it says "format error." I tried this more than 10 times, with different avi converter available online. Again, disappointed.

How do I get a replacement copy for the avi-converter? Can you send me a link?

If not, I have to return this for a refund. The advertisement(which even included a camera which it doesn't have) exagerrates too much.

do NOT buy the bundle

4GB Touch Screen 2.8" TFT MP3/MP4 Music & Video + Accessories
the bundle offered by Amazon would be a nice if all parts were compatible, but they aren't. this specific player does not support the mini sdhc card being offered in the bundle. although i don't have a problem with the player itself, (works great for what i wanted) it will only allow a 2gb mini sd card, NOT the 4gb sdhc card in the bundle. i have e-mailed Amazon to let them know they have a problem and they assure me that they are looking into it, hopefully they will get it fixed soon and this review will be obsolete in that aspect.
as for the player itself, i got it to play mp3's and a few videos (not full length movies) i haven't had any problems with it at all, video Quality is great. i did go out and buy a different set of earbuds, volume on the ones that came with wasn't great even with both volume controls turned up all the way. the only files i have had a problem with are copywrited files (which is to be expected). in short, the player is a fine one to own, (all my coworkers like it too) just don't get the bundle with the 4gb sdhc card

Ok Player

(4 out of 5) by Pretty Lady on Sep 10, 2008 (USA)
This player is okay. I have not had too much time to use it. The instructions that came with it are not much help. I like the large screen and the speaker. The video quality is good.
