Wonderful!

(5 out of 5) by R. Miller on Mar 5, 2008 (Midwest)
As a music director, I bought this for its portability to record concerts in stereo. Just hook it up to a laptop computer (plugs into a USB port) and record away - anywhere! The resulting WAV file is already on the computer ready to tweak in Sound Forge. The stereo sound quality is rich and accurate. We have been very impressed.

A great microphone for home studios.

(5 out of 5) by Yoshie B. on Dec 25, 2008
After reading the reviews and carefully putting it to thought, I bought this microphone in hopes that I would be able to record my piano compositions. And those hopes were fulfilled. This product records crystal clear (so clear that it sounds like I went to a professional recording studio!) and it's easy to use; just plug it into your USB port and record. However, one drawback is that it tends to easily catch small noises, such as clicks or noises that are going on in your house/apartment/etc. Therefore, recording in a dead-silent room would be the best thing to do. Unfortunately for me, I have to record in a room that's always busy.

To show you how crystal clear the sound is, here's one of my compositions that I've recorded through this microphone: synthoxide.net/music/Composition19.mp3

Great microphone, easy to use!

(5 out of 5) by James Wright on Feb 28, 2009 (Montross, Virginia, USA)
I am a middle school music teacher that works with pro audio in my spare time. I do a lot of work with Pro Tools using professional-quality microphones, but it isn't always convenient to have my DigiRack and/or preamps with me. I got this microphone to record my classroom rehearsals in stereo using Garageband. It is plug and play, and yields great quality recordings, with good lows and highs. For the price, it's definitely worth purchasing!

Be careful

(1 out of 5) by Kurt A. Toelken on Jun 17, 2009 (Troy, Michigan United States)
Mine was DOA. Right channel out. LED does not light. On that particular day Austin Bazaar was the "sold by" outfit. I notice today it is someone else. Two days from now who knows. Amazon will not accept a return. Austin Bazaar will not accept a return. I am now dealing with the manufacturer's warranty and what they state is a one to two week process to have the mic fixed or replaced. In future, I will not buy through Amazon if the "sold by" is anyone other than Amazon. If I had shopped a local brick and mortor for this, they would have exchanged it immediately. Now a simple purchase has become a two week hastle with additional shipping costs. What a mistake.

MXL USB.007 Mic

This is an excellent product. It needs to be set up on a table top or mic stand since it's pretty hefty. The quality is excellent.
