it looks like a regular travel speaker, but when I open the center door, see a receiver, which can be used as headset for cellphone
listen the audio from my pda (HX2495), the clip can attach on my collar, plug in my earphones, the sound is good, less dropoff than other wireless headphones, it has a connector on the bottom, that is used for charging when put back to speaker unit
the speaker unit can also be used as wired speaker, the sound is pretty good, with decent bass consider the speaker size
however, when I turn the speaker volume to higher, the sound gets cracked till you turn all the way back down
it has a cap for the receiver to cover the connector, but it gets lost easily (I lost it even after opened the box), and Altec should sell the replacement cap)
I personally like this wireless travel speaker, very good concept (detachable stand-alone headset receiver), and good sound, $100 is still worth

Has no one but my son noticed that you can play through any speaker system, basically convert it to bluetooth, by connecting with the stereo 3.5 mm plug to the speaker output on the detachable headset? The included speakers are ok for the size, but you should try it with your Bose!

I paid around $34.00 for these bluetooth speakers, and it was a great deal! The sound is very good, it is very light, bluetooth works great, no difficult at all to set it up with my Smartphone. The batteries do not last long (as with all bluetooth devices I have), but rechargeable batteries should do the work well. I really recommend it.

I didn't realize what all this item could do. This comes with everything you could possible need to listen to music on the go with your bluetooth enabled cellphone or a direct audio connection from your mp3 player. When I first took it out of the box I was a little disappointed seeing it was a lot smaller than I had pictured from the ad. But after turning it on and listening to it, I and the people in the room couldn't believe the sound that was coming out of it. The volume with bluetooth enabled is a little softer but still has good quality sound. After a short while of use I did get some definite distortion so I changed out the batteries it came with new Duracells. It's been 2 weeks on the new batteries and no distortion at all. What I didn't know was you can remove the little bluetooth device from the speaker unit, connect the included headphone and walk away from the cell phone or music device your using. I use it at work all the time, on trips and in hotel rooms. This is a great deal for an excellent sounding small speaker with so many features.

Awesome piece of boom box. I love music and use to travel a lot. I love listening to my mp3's during flights and travels using my phone and headset. But staying in a hotel room with something in my ear is not really relaxing. This is where Altec Lansing T515 comes in perfectly. I just open my phone's blue tooth, pair with with T515 nd presto, all the music I want to listen to in a clear crisp sound.. even from a distance.. You can even distinguish the base despite its small size... really awesome. Furthermore, I can carry the blue tooth device and plug it into my car's stereo line-in to play the same mp3's I love from my phone wherever I go.. even when I jog. I just insert my sports headset into the bluetooth device, clip it in my armband where my phone is and my tempo is up and running. The only so-so in the package is the headset which could have been better. But I have better headsets and they're compatible with the BT device. Oh and another thing, this comes with its own case contoured and designed to fit the shape of the speaker for protection during travels. Really love this thing.
